Just saw that Oisin Fagan is going to fight that brilliant little amateur (when he was on the US squad) Varquan Kimbrough. Me smells an upset though.
Fagan could ruin this kid with his heart. Don't get me wrong, Kimbrough is lightning fast, but I think he'll be broken down in the later rounds by Fagan's aggression. I guess the Irish title fight between Fagan and Gorman is off now? Anyone got any confirmation?
Any opinions?

Fagan to face 5 time US National champ, Varquan Kimbrough !

Good point... but how can one lost fight warrant people thinking he's becoming a "trialhorse"? Can't a kid have a bad night or 2?

Fagan will get tamed in this fight. He's too aggressive for his own good. He's one of those mad Irishmen, like Steve Collins- afraid of nobody, but with lack of a good amateur pedigree. And what age is he? 35? Anyways, I agree with the man who brought up lack of experience. He had something like 4 amateur fights over the space of 5 years. How he's done so well in this game, up to this point is incredible... He makes a good story though, thats for sure!
Just sounds to me like you're one of those racist fckers... Just b/c he's Irish doesn't mean he's a "mad Irishman". He's aggressive for sure, but I know Irish who aren't. That was a ridiculous comment.
Some Irish have chips on their shoulders b/c of something they call "British oppression" and if that stuff is enough to motivate them into being good fighters, then more power to them.

Did you not see on Fagan's record that he almost beat Spadafora? And most people at the fight thought he'd won- I certainly did and most of the crowd. Gave him one hell of a fight. I think he's a really exciting fighter. Don't know if he's world-class, but a Mickey Ward type of fighter for sure.verballistic wrote:NaFianna wrote:
the fact that fagan will actually be a STEP UP for verquan (and VICE VERSA) tells you all you need to know about both fighters...a crossroads fight on the road to nowhere!!
