Whenever Froch and Calzaghe are mentioned in a thread, it always comes up who'd win - thats a seperate topic really.
My point was only to illustrate exactly why the fight never happened.... and perhaps never will happen.
Each and everyone of us has our opinions on either man (i think they are both good for british boxing) - but its a shame that this may not ever happen.
Whether you wish for Froch to unscrew Joe's head with an uppercut or for Calzaghe to box Froch's tabs off - either way we will prob never know.

The Reid fight is a come back fight from his injury and Reid is a difficult opponent who was thought good enough to be in a world title fight not so long ago. Froch aint been out for that long. Reid in my opinion isn't top 25, is gonna bore people to death unless Froch can bash him up, teaches Froch nothing, was destroyed by a fighter who was in turn shut out by Calzaghe, a fighter he is constantly calling out. I don't think Froch has all that much to gain by fighting Reid - if he struggles with a fighter clearly past him prime (which is possible given Reid previously undentable chin) he looks bad.
I can understand the matchup (Reid has a name, former champ, can always say Calzaghe was lucky to beat him) but in my opinion Carl should be past this level by now, Reid is strictly domestic class in his current form. How about trying to make a fight with a Tsypko level opponent?
