Did anyone see Joe Calzaghe interview on Insid Sport

Post by josh fg »

It was crap. I usualy like Bunce but it was totaly fawning without asking him if he regretted not fighting Ottke for example. Infact you didn't see that many of the questions cos they were pissing around with camera angles, he said his left hand was a "pain in the arse" without anyone explaining it keeps getting broken.

What did everyone think?

Shite... camera work and special effects/cutting/editing - whatever you call it ruined all the footage... and Bunces "interview" itself was more an exercise in ass-kissing. No wonder he was in a good mood.

He talks some Bollocks does old Bunce... even when he knows it not to be true. Granted, there's interest in the fight from abroad, but refering to Calzaghe as a "Superstar" in the states, and saying that American boxing writers are looking at this as "one of the biggest fights of the last 25 years" is shite. Yes, they're interested, Yes, they recognise Joes talent, but come on Buncey - keep it in perspective.

Logan can be forgiven for such mistakes, cos she'd get it. :D

I laughed at that as well, I don't mind Buncey, but that's sensationalism at its best. I'm sure the US writers aren't viewing this one as BIG as DLH-PBF or Hatton-PBF, so its not even the biggest of the year, in saying that I don't want to get downbeat because this is a cracking fight. It could go either way IMO.

Come on JC!!

I like the footage of Calzaghe on Inside Sport, but I do think Steve Bunce goes OTT at times. It was nice to see Joe & Buncey having a laugh about how out of shape Joe will get once he retires.

You cannot have anything but admiration for Calzaghe's training regime & that stems from his father & trainer, Enzo. Who saw Joe sprinting up steps, then shiffling back down, sprint back up etc? Enzo was at the bottom, probably ready to go made if Joe slacked or slowed down.

I really feel Enzo is a great asset to Joe, because of the discipline factor & because it's a father/son together, it makes it all the sweeter in my view.

I for one would like to go to Enzo Calzaghe's Newbridge gym so he could put me through my paces!

As Joe stated in the documentry, during fight week, when he's that much nearer making weight, he'll be horrible to be around, probably because he'll be hungry. So come tomorrow, thursday, I imagine Joe will have a very short fuse indeed!
