I never actually saw the doc that Steve Bunce had done on him, people say it was good. Anyone got a copy they would like to trade with me please?

Kirkland was at the Midland Area awards in Birmingham in July. He was presented an award for Boxer of the Past.

Thing with Kirkland is everyone wanted him to win, he was cocky , but didn't come across as crass with it. He just seemed like a kid who had just won and got over excited.
His post fight interviews were class, half the time you had a white middleclass interviewer trying to work out what the hell Kirkland had just said to him, priceless.

Good to see him getting an award and looking ok. I'll never forget seeing Laing fight live, it was one thing to see him on tv but you could only really truly appreciate his ability live.... the way he would stand in front of an opponent with his hands down etc and yet not get hit!.... I hope he doesnt live with regrets, he had a great career and should be proud of what he acheived.... :box: :box: :box:
