Hugo, the only way you could get a total win/loss record is by counting all the bouts in their passbooks. I don't think anyone is going to do that. :-?

Most of the Olympians probably have at least 100 bouts experience, and some will have more. Hope that helps. :D

I would think Downs is in the same area as Hunter, maybe 50 or so. I don't think he has been boxing long enough to have over 100.

The finals will be televised on Sunday, November 4th on Fox - an entire hour's worth!

60 minutes is only enough time to show 4 or 5 bouts.

I know Mel. I was pointing out that 1 hour isn't enough time to even show 1/2 of the weight classes. They will do a lot of editing and show parts of some bouts and then they may skip some bouts altogether.

Fox is showing the 1 hour special at 4:30 pm on Sunday. That is EST so for you Mel it will be at a different time.

Thanks, Dennis - I've been trying to find that info for days! 1:30 p.m. for me. All 1 hour (as you so aptly described) and I just know they will show one or two rounds of whomever and ALL of the SH or SHW bouts. Ugh.

That is just fine by me. I was a SHW and my son boxes HW so I enjoy watching the big guys. Mel - you just need to learn to appreciate them.

How can you appreciate blubber weights who do nothing by hug, waltz, hold, grapple and otherwise trudge boringly around the ring (with very few excptions!)? Sheesh! :x

Because I boxed from 165# to SHW and have sparred guys from various weight categories - top amateurs and pros. HW and SHW hit a lot harder. Having a big guy hit you, hold you or lean on you, takes a lot out of you. I know how difficult it can be so I have an appreciation for it. I guess you would have to experience it to really appreciate it. You are probably too small and too old to be able to experience it so Mel you will just have to take my word for it. :D

Holding and leaning are not what I consider good boxing techniques.

Yeah, they didn't have a women's boxing program in the 1800's, darn it! And I'm definitely short at 5'1". However, I do find HW and SHW bouts incredibly boring, amateur or pro, more so in the pros because they can hold and grapple, etc. I have seen Mike Wilson and Jason Estrada in good amateur bouts where they boxed and moved - refreshing! Unfortunately, too few and far between.

Hmmm, I'm 6'6" and like SHW and HW. Mel you are 5'1" and like the small weight classes. Coincidence?
