JUAN DIAZ, COULD KHAN EVER BUMP HIM OFF?
Anyone honestly believe AMir could ever advance far enough to beat Diaz?
Granted, Khan is pretty dangerous behind a steering wheel, but in a boxing ring against a world class boxer?
Having watched Diaz v Diaz, i think Juan would absolutely splatter Amir across the canvas.
Do these news paper writers who talk about how great Amir is ever seen Juan Diaz fight?

Simply no way Khan in my eyes can beat Juan Diaz on recent form. The Diaz Vs Diaz fight was amazing, Khan is not on that level now at all.overhand_right wrote:Anyone honestly believe AMir could ever advance far enough to beat Diaz?

Not now but in the future if he improves maybe. Khan is better on the outside and his movement and speed could see him outbox Diaz. I think it would be back and forth war in the end. Khan isn't a slouch when it comes to inside fighting either. Khan would be hit more than hes ever been hit but Diaz isn't a monster puncher by any means. Diaz would also be hit more than hes ever been hit upto this point
This would be an amazing fight in 2 years and maybe fight of the year sort of fight, I really see it that way.

The Baby Bull opened a lot of peopl's eyes with his showing against Diaz - I am sure, as a student of boxing, Khan would have tuned in to see the display.
It certainly gave him something to measure his progress against. Right now he would get taken apart but if he continues to improve, in a few years, it could be a great fight!

Yes he is but when Diaz was 20 (the same age as Khan) he was fighting around the level Khan is fighting at now, Khans 4 years younger. Khans gradually stepping up much like Diaz has over the yearsoverhand_right wrote:With 18 kayos in 33 fights, Diaz kayo ratio is miles ahead of Khans opponent. He bangs a lot harder than Limond, thats for sure.
Cant see Khan competiting in a 'give asnd take war'. You have to have a chin to engage in one of those.

Fraink certainly knows which fights to make, when to make 'em, when not to make 'em. If the fight never happens, we know why!
I like Romanov's chances or one of the more technically sound Brit super feathers/lightweights on the way up. Khan's athletic talent can get him an alphabet world title, but I think he'd get knocked out by a Diaz type because there's things you just can't get away with at top level.
That said Khan is still a kid and nowhere near fully developed. Ironically, Diaz was top 10 world class when he was about 20-21

I think I can hear Frank laughing over that suggestion - Diaz is in another league and Khan has a long way to catch him up - Maybe sometime in the future as Diaz is only 24, just 3/4 years older than Khan - Khan has yet to prove he can take a good punch and that the KD agaist Limond was a fluke, which I dont it was - I strongly believe a world class fighter must be able to take a good punch as well as land them and I think the Earl fight will be a deciding factor - Graham does have a good punch and if it lands I cant see Khan recovering as he did against Limond - Dont get me wrong, I would love to be proved wrong and to see Khan succeed but I can see a AND1 comming up for him when the two meet - Of course Khan will outwork Earl and look good, I expect that - Then Earl will find his range and get a bit of success - Then Khan full of confidence will land a flurry of punches leaving himself wide open to an Earl right cross or uppercut and the fight will be over - If on the other hand Khan does take Earls punches and wins the fight, I will take the lad more seriously - However at the moment I think Juan Diaz should be no more than a passing thought - Earl, Thaxton, Murray and Mitchell would all be a handful never mind the Euro and World fighters who are on another level - Graham Earl will be a huge test and tell us a lot about how far Khan can go.overhand_right wrote:Optimistic. He wasnt on the floor against guys like Limond. PLus Khan wants his title fight now. And hes ranked by WBC.
Come on Frank, give us Khan v Diaz.
3-4 years is a lot of experience to have as an advantage, especially against a relatively untested fighter like Khan. For me he won't be ready for the very top level for well over a year now. I'd keep him at domestic and European level until early '09, then shoot for a world title after that, assuming he has held together and improved enough to warrant it.

At 20 Diaz was the WBA world lightweight champion.

still, Diaz had some big growing pains. He started crying in a post fight interview in a fight he was knocked down in. He had to be moved down a weight and given a few easy fights to build his confidence...
Never. IMO, Alex Arthur has more chance of beating Pac, Marquez, Guzman and Soto on the same night than Khan has of beating Diaz. The levels are so far apart it's almost like watching two different sports. I don't dislike Amir and wish him every success, but if he was ever going to reach the truly elite level, we'd be seeing a lot more from him already. I don't think his style suits the pros and he will be exposed very soon.

Anyone else read Tris Dixon's preview of Diaz-Diaz? I thought he really talked up Julio Diaz to sound like the second coming of Roy Jones Jnr. I thought after reading maybe i was missing something "Am i thinking of the same fighter that lost to Castillo?" Dixon recalled him blitzing Chavez with world class combinations etc before the knee injury. Was i forgetting something there?

Khan will never be a real World Champion.
His best bet is to move up to Lt Welter NOW and fight Gavin Rees and hope to win that on points, OF COURSE HE WILL GET KNOCKED INTO NEXT WEEK when he defends against anyone decent - BUT FWANK WANKERREEEN will make him defend against easy opposition.
Only a matter of time until KHAN is put down for the count!

The only Brits pinning their future hope on Amir Khan are those who are not die hard boxing fans and listen to Barry 'I'm on the payroll' McGuigan or allegedly's endless harping.
REal boxing fans know Khan is an accident waiting to happen.
