Takaloo did okay in his first attempt of a world title fight (proper title) against Santos, although many of his flaws were exposed (IMO). Santos is an underated champion, but for me is some way off the two biggest names in the devision and Ronald Wright. Santos vs Vargas would be interesting and I do think Santos is worthy of the opportunity to fight the best 3 in the devision.

Anyway, my point is that I believe Simms (at this moment in time, he's still improving even at 32) is not a good as Santos, although I think he hits a fair bit harder.

Is there any Light middle from the UK (or our adopted Sergio Martinez) that you think can take this guy. I personally think Martinez might have a shout and possibly a rejuvenated Williams. I would favour Simms, but I'd think they'd be interesting. Simms, seemed to be a little bit worried of Garcia's phenomenal power, can Tak expose a potential weakness. What about Jamie Moore?

Any thoughts on the new WBA Light Middleweight champion.

While I don't really rate this Simms, I think he'd still have to much for any British Light Middle.

I picked Simms to beat Garica because the Mexican didn't look that hard a task. I'd heard Simms was a slick operator with a good punch too, but obviously a bit untested.
Well he looked pretty good to me and I can't see any of our UK crop getting the better of him - not the one dimensional Takaloo at least.

Simms looked decent and dealt with Garcia's threat well, however Garcia was just loosening up and i felt that things would have got interesting had he not been KO'd like he was. A rematch is on the cards for me, i would like to see if Simms is for real and whether Garcia has anything more to offer. Some of the British guys should target Simms though, he looks beatable for the likes of Takaloo and a prime Williams.

Yeah Garcia would have done a lot better if he had avoided getting knocked out ...

Simms is a full level above all UK LM's - best bet probs Moore to break him up a bit - but I'd still fancy Simms - too mobile and would KO Morre 6-8 rounds.

Simss would give all LMs a reasonable tussle.
