Edison Miranda - Lightheavyweight?

Post by Bell »

why is miranda listed as a light heavy, when he just stepped up from middle to super middle?

And ranked 14 as a LH?

Against Porras he weighed just over 169lb. The supermiddleweight limit is 168lb. So technically speaking he is currently lightheavyweight. If and when he fights for a title where he'll have to come in at 168 or below, then he'll be rated at super middle

According to this press release he’s now campaigning at 168.

HOLLYWOOD, FL, November 5 – Following his impressive fifth round stoppage of veteran Henry Porras on October 30th, super middleweight contender Edison Miranda silenced any critics who questioned whether he would still be the same fighter at 168 pounds that he was at 160.
He’s now ranked 8th @ 168 by the IBF and is talking up
a fight with Jean Pascal Who is ranked 4th by the WBC.
