Boxing Archives

Post by steve689 »

Does anyone know a website where i can obtain articles or links to articles from yesteryears? I am not looking for Dempsey-Tunney or anything like that, just fight reports from matches such as Thompson-Eubank, Reid-Calzaghe, Collins-Eubank, Watson-McCallum, Benn-Nardiello and stuff like that etc I tried Google search engine but just get the usual shite. Anyone got any help? Would be much appreciated.

It's tough, nay, almost impossible, to find a website that goes back so far. The Sportinglife.com has a limited big fight archive, and Boxing Monthly have details of all their back issues from 1997 at:

Otherwise, I really don't know.

The first boxing site I stumbled accross was the excellent now defunct Houseofboxing around 3 or 4 years ago. I don't know how long they've generaly been going - anyone know?

secondsout has an archives section.

Pretty sure HofB went on to become Maxboxing. They may have not been directly connected, but the decline of HofB coincided with Maxboxing coming on the scene and many of the writers transferred to this site...
