Bars in Pimlico/Victoria to watch Froch-Reid?
Bars in Pimlico/Victoria to watch Froch-Reid?
Just wondering if anybody knows of somewhere in this area that will show the boxing. I know most places with a TV have Sky, but a lot of them are reluctant to show anything that isn't football, rugby, tennis, darts or golf. If anybody knows of somewhere it would be a big help. I've bought somewhere there recently so am in the process of getting my Sky set up.

You should try the Pride of Pimlico on Tachbrook Street, junction with Moreton Street.
They will have it on. Ask for the governor, Tim Keenan, or his wife Mary who looks like a bulldog chewing a wasp. Or Larry behind the bar, who only talks about Arsenal.
They will certainly have it on, and the Haye fight tomorrow.

Brilliant, thanks for that. You still living there? Just gave them a call and they said they'd have it on the big screen, but that they'll be having a DJ there tonight... Might see you there if you're around.KO Artist wrote:I live there for 25 years.oliverfennell wrote:You must be on a six-figure salary...johnswan1 wrote: I've bought somewhere there recently

Just back now. An odd place but got the job done and good to see them showing the fight on the big screen. Nice pints. They had a DJ there playing loud rave music while people played pool and watched the fight. Have not seen that before in a pub of its type, especially considering there weren't many there but no problem with that if that's what they want to do. Would go back again but luckily I have the Setanta viewing card now for tomorrows fights, but it's yet to work for me.KO Artist wrote:Not tonight mate, but if you need a low down on the pubs let me know and i will PM you.johnswan1 wrote:Brilliant, thanks for that. Ive known Geoge for years, played snooker with him a lot. He is a nice old boy, but he could peel an orange in his pocket.overhand_right wrote:Not personally, i was going to rent a room from him. Dont tell me hes your dad or something?
Spoke to his wife, absolutely lovely sweet woman.
The pubs mentioned above, Morpeth is a Youngs pub with no TV, the slug has changed to the Page, again no telly. The Swan is OK, no tramps, but again no telly.
If you want to watch boxing you have got The Pride of Pimlico or The Lord High Admiral on Vauxhall Bridge Road. The Coach and Horses on Willow Place is also good for sport.
