I wouldn't be surprised if he gave Thaxton a swerve, as I'm not yet convinced Amir can do 12 hard rounds. And they would be hard. I can't see him stopping Jon either.

Everybodys confidence in Khan seems to be based on his Olympic achievements - With Willie Limond being the exception the remainder of his opponents have been either poor or ordinary - So Khan is going to beat Earl and Thaxton and be the undisputed best in Britain and have the coveted Lonsdale belt, methinks not - Jon it seems wants to take on those who have established themselves already rather than a kid comming up, who like his fans, thinks he is better than he is - One thing Khan has proved, hes bit like Martin Concepsion, good fighter with a poor chin - Graham Earl did lose his way a bit with his boxing and would be the first to admit it, but he is well fired up for this one - Khan has to prove himself at domestic level and Earl and Thaxton are in his way - Earl was the much easier fight to make and not only that Graham really wants it - Its a big payday for Earl but that certainly isnt the motivating factor, its become a personal issue for Earl who wants to be the first to stop Khan - We know Khan has the handspeed to beat Earl on points but can he avoid the heavy punches of Earl, and can he take them - Graham Earl has the heart of a lion and has total belief he is going to win - Did any previous Khan opponent really think they had a chance, Maybe Limond, but maybe not - I can see Khan taking all the early rounds, unless he is careless and then Earl will land big and finish him off - Katsidis hits like Pavlik, which is very much harder than Khan - When Earl fought Katsidis he proved how tough he was comming back from a heavy KD to have Katsidis in trouble - Anyway my bet on Earl to KO Khan has been placed, no round in particular because I havent got a clue.

Maybe, however its not only witty but makes a valid point also - Khans attitude behind the wheel seems to reflect his attitude as a boxer which has pissed off Graham Earl and a lot of fight fans as well.

DEFINITELY NOT!

Limonds comment before the fight: "its okay if i lose, i can go back to joinery"

Hoping Earl or THaxton bring more of a winners attitude to the ring.

So Thaxton is going to fight Murray after saying he was going to move on from domestic level - Its a real good fight though and Murray will give him problems - Khan v Murray would be tasty. :box: :box: :box:

Exactly what i thought at the time. It was there to be taken but he pulled out when it got tough.

THe quote was on BBC Interactive either the day before or on the day of the fight.

Not the words of a champion. Hope he sticks to joinery.

This fight don't excite me none.

An ageing boxer with no shortage of hard fights on the ledger against a powerful young puncher with freakish speed and great range.

I can only see one winner.

spot on.... if Earl wins it will be a big upset, esp. to SN, who matchmake carefully to say the least....

what are the chances Earl is under 'team orders' as it were?

Hehe, are you insinuating there may be a bit more cash for Graham to 'take it easy' or 'find a soft spot'? The kind of bonus that could give his kids a better education/start in life?

Hmmmm...

I was hoping for around 5-1 as I said on another topic. After thinking about it I may go.

5 pts Earl to win by KO
2 pts Earl to beat Khan
1 pt Earl to beat Khan in the 5-6-7 rounds. (3 points total)

Don't bother going to a bookie yet. Wait and see what odds you can get at betfair. Might get 60-1 instead of 40-1 for the rounds.

Graham Earl will go all out to win this. The man has pride and knows if he connects right on Khan's Vera Lynn, it will be all over. Graham then goes on to bigger paydays. I certainly don't believe he'll be coming into this with no ambition.

The theory is stupid Earl is the last man who would agree to such a deal - OK Graham hasnt had too many good paydays and is narked that Khan has - Earl has pride, the heart of a lion and more motivation to win this fight than any other he has fought in before - Every Khan opponent has been fed to him knowing they had no real chance of winning - For the first time in Khans pro career he is up against a fighter who believes he will win and can see no other result, a big difference - As I have said before I believe FW was under pressure from ITV to put Khan in a competetive bout - Any other theory is nonsense.

Hey buddy- i hope you're 100% right!!

Im dying to see Khan in a competitive fight with a guy trying to win who wont quit if he hits the floor like LImond did. 2 and a half years of Khans pro set-ups and news paper writers wanking over him has seriously got on my nerves. Lets all wank to a Graham Earl victory!!

Defintely be having a bet on Earl by KO.

He's a proud fighter and will be eyeing Khan like a walk in the park, after Kastidis last time out.

Not sure FW really wanted this fight, more likely pressure from the Khan backers - the true believers.

And Frank probably thinks, well if he cant beat Earl, I may as well find out now.

Sorry ... simply cannot see it.

Graham Earl has to get an award as one of the very bravest and gutsiest and courage fighters out there. I know some will say I am writing b*llocks but I am convinced Graham Earl is on the verge of being finished - I know Johnny Eames and co will argue I am being disrespectful and I seriously do not mean to be so - for sometime I severly question Earl's ability to take a shot and lets be honest here does he really hit that hard to be a viable threat to Khan.

Graham Earl has to go into the list of the nicest and genuine people in the sport who has done immensley well with what I believe are domestic class skills -

I stress again I do not want to disrespect Earl in anyway - but if you are to believe the hype and some b*llocks written about Khan he simply has to deal with Earl and do so convincingly.

If the Khan hype is to carry on the momentum - Khan by no later than the fourth round.

I actually think odds on the first couple of rounds are worth looking at.
