I saw him fight for the first time last month. I honestly have to say, him and Andy Lee are brilliant looking prospects. I think if all goes well for them, they will clean out middleweight between them. I believe Abraham and Sturm will be in deep shit.
Barker is fast, accurate, has lovely punch variety and he impressed Mikkel Kessler. Put simply, I don't think there's been a young middle who looked this good for many years.
i agree with you, darren is awesome, providing he maintains his composure and boxes, when he stands and trades he gets tagged, and this could be his downfall as he does hit the deck, credit so far though, he has got up to win on each occasion, and that takes balls.
I rate Barker highly, hopefully he can bring some shows back to Hertfordshire. Think he is definitely in with a chance of coming out on top if the likes of Smith, McDermott and himself get in on in the next few years
but a McCracken boxer who likes a tear up a bit too much Rhino? surely not!
Darren Barker still has something to prove in my view. Although I have to say I remember when Meaty Mick Hennessy signed him he was excited about the lads future.

OK, he has fought Ernie Smith and Ojay and a few others who are journeymen in the making but its still early days - Kessler and Froch rate him having used him for sparring so I think we have a future champion on our hands - Hard to tell how good he really is until he moves up.
