Haye Vs. Mormeck Rd by Rd
Enzo is not in the same class as either of these two fighters. Enzo doesn't have the movement to back Haye up let alone the handspeed to get through before Haye bombs him out.Cannibal wrote:POST FIGHT THOUGHTS
Haye is the new WBA/WBC champ but it was FAR from a great performance from him.
All through the fight Mormeck was backing him up onto the ropes with no punches thrown to get him there and on top of this he was backing up in straight lines which is what resulted in his knockdown in the 4th.
The first time Haye actually opened up fully was in the 7th and that's where he ended it, so Haye's power pulled him out of a poor performance.
Should they meet, I'd favour Enzo.

Good fight!!!
I had Haye drawing at the time of the knockout, due to the knockdown,
other wise he'd have been ahead slightly.
I was impressed with his stamina, he didnt seem tired, he did pick his punches up until the 6th round, one thing id like to mention all though Haye went down, he did seem to take a few good shots without blinking,
the sort of shots that have had him in trouble in the past, maybe he wasnt as drained for this fight either way, improved stamina, and at the end of the day he got the big W.
Id favour him over Enzo, though it could go either way, just feel his speed is his advantage.
Bring on the heavys, he can only get better and stronger from here to be honest, no more weight drain.

Let's give Haye massive credit. He burned out 2 stone, waited months for his title crack, went abroad, and just won the WBC/WBA cruiser titles.
Haye broke him down with body shots. He looked like a heavyweight in there. Had trouble punching down to a small guy. But he used the body shots & the uppercuts and he won.
He had a Lennox Lewis look about him. Patient, steady, gathered himself. Shouldn't be fighting these small guys any more. Move up to heavy. Hit tjhose chins that are hanging up in the air.

Enzo is one of the most improved fighters around in my mind. I think he'd win the jab battle and have enough power to make that low left hand of Haye's pay. Would be a rollercoaster battle though with possibly both men hitting the deck during the fight.sendo wrote:Enzo is not in the same class as either of these two fighters. So Haye looked patchy at times and his defense was a bit pourous. But the facts remain Haye killed himself to make the cruiser limit, went to France and bombed out the Champ after being on the deck himself. Lets not even talk about the heavyweights yet, lets just enjoy what Haye achieved tonight on its own merit. The guy deserves a ton of credit, end of.
Braithwaite is not in the same class as Mormeck and even then Enzo could not stop him. Braithwaite didn't exactly look like he even wanted to win for most of that fight.Max Molyneux wrote:Massive credit no doubt but Enzo looked more Lennox like against Braithwaite than Haye did tonight.
Not to say Haye - Enzo wouldn't be a good fight or a certainty, but Enzo's poor and carefully selected opposition is flattering him imo.

Unless he wants to fight Ruiz, he needs to get that left hand up and stop leaning in. Ibragimov would be the ideal, as Haye said, but Wlad's gonna ruin that one no doubt.
It felt like I was watching a dream Audley once had, where he was Ali...
