You've said averything I was thinking Terry. I was even going to start an ENZO IS A TOOL thread but thought it wouldn't be nice.

Setanta shitted all over Haye. Haye is over the moon, but he won't be happy when he sees the video of it.

It was a class performance by Haye. Lennox, who watches him train, will be proud. It's not easy punching down to a tank like that who rolls in, but he killed that body and used a key punch - the left uppercut - to set up a great KO.

It reminded me of Pavlik-Taylor, the big guy getting up and leaving the champ out of it in the corner.

Great work from Haye. The real cruiser champ. Macca only wants titles, not fights. Macca even loses weight after the weigh in, so he can't fight @ heavy, LOL

These Welsh can fight, but PR speaking they are pretty dire. Calzaghe's talked a lot of rubbish over the years (but is invincible now, so hey) and Enzo is milking haye's glory like a parasite.

thought JMM would be in trouble if he didn't break Haye down a bit every round. He made up for ti with that knockdown, but Haye did the business. I'm over the moon. Frank has less bile to write now.

Why on earth should Enzo fight at Heavy when he walks around under 200?

If he wants to fight Haye thats where it will have to be - Haye has dry boiled himself to 200 lbs for the last time, and what a glorious way to leave the division.

Haye has set the standard for all other cruiserweight pretenders to follow.

Fight the best out there in their own backyard, survive a rocky spell and come back to splat them on to the canvas - its the stuff dreams are made of!!

all i can say is congratulations to david haye, im absolutely delighted for him, he has fought all comers and avoided the mickey mouse titles.

enzo...you had your chance but your promoter demanded options, have a re match with lee swaby insted.

or Gunn, or Azzaoui. If ambitous, perhaps a Dominguez rematch, for Big Mac.

Enzo's a top class fighter, but he didn't take the ballsy risk of fighting the #1 away from home and sparking him.

For a start Bunce floats a catchweight contest beyond Cruiserweight, surely heavyweight bout would suffice for this?
Didn't see the coverage, but Bunce has clearly had one too many champagne executive press greetings. The man needs toilet roll every time he opens his mouth.

Ditch the belts Haye and move up , sure he's not watertight but he's proved he's a league above Enzo now.

Haye was never going to make the Mac fight anyway considering that he won a WBC eliminator, was targeting Mormeck and fucked off to Miami which means he was not around to sign the contract.

Mormeck was the target all along.

enzo is a class act and he has proved himself in the ring time and time again...
both enzo and david are a credit to british boxing - why stir up hatred with a potential match up, who needs it...
haye nearly got ko'd by lolenga mock - a super middle - anyone who saw that fight knows mr haye can be hurt at cruiser...
enzo got beat early in his career by lee swaby ...
both haye and mac have been getting better and looking better fight by fight over the last year or two...
both are credible operators at world class level...
why disrespect enzo just because david has done the business tonight...?

Great to see Haye do it. I've loved his attitude for a long time now and his honesty and willingness to do things the hard way is refreshing.

What doesn worry me is his dangling left hand. Nearly paid the price tonight and I'd like to see him tighten up, although I guess there will always be a trade off in terms of how he is able to get his own shots off.

His body punches were nasty :box:

To be honest I blame Bunce and the presenter more than Enzo for the post-fight analysis. A fighter is usually going to talk themselves up when talking about a future opponent, and for me it was them that set the 'analysis' up as Enzo vs. Haye, which realistically isn't going to happen anyway.

Enzo is a cracking fighter and a nice bloke but he should tell SN's match maker to fukc off with the bull5hit defences and line up a fight with the 'best of the rest' Steve Cunningham.

I am sick of promoters/boxers getting away with weak matches offered up as 'world title' fare - Haye has set the standard, its down to Enzo to follow suit now.

The balls in the big lad's court. :TU:

Why did the female Setanta interviewer ask Haye, who had just become The Man, if he'd go to Cardiff to fight Enzo? Have the Welsh lads become the "house fighters" on Setanta and everyone else is just a challenger or pretender, whatever their credentials?

That was very strange - how did Setanta bring out an interviewer but not a commentary team? Why a yank?

Hang on a minute - all Enzo Maccarinelli has done is stated he will be staying at cruiserweight - what the f*ck has he done wrong??

He has stated that he will fight Haye for the titles - but it is David Haye who is now changing the goal posts.

I have not been a fan of Enzo but lets get things into perspective here.

Haye has also said this would be his last fight at crusier for some time so Enzo can talk as much bollox as he likes but at the end of the day he will always hide behind his promoter.

All he done this evening was make himself look silly talking about this matchup constantly knowing full well it wont happen.

He said he'd go to heavyweight, and punches like one, if this is not the time then when? At least he can lose and go down in weight.

Don't say it if you don't truly fancy it.
sadly he wants titles not big fights. titles are more important. titles and a weight drained opponent.

Mac grinds down Haye at cruiser; Haye obliterates him at heavy, which is Haye's weight.

I didn't think Enzo's comments were that bad myself Terry.

I thought he could have given Haye a bit more credit for his achievement instead of bemoaning Mormeck's lack of finishing skills ( I guess that revealed his preferred outcome) but everything else was fair enough I thought.

Bunce is just Bunce. Nobody takes him seriously do they?

Enzo is a decent bloke. If you want to have a pop at anyone look no further than the promoters.

Maccarinelli and Haye if it were up to them would fight in their back yard - it is the promoters who get in the way.

He may be a decent bloke and I always had a lot of time for him until now but he came across as a bitter green eyed monster tonight. He wasn't admitting it but you just knew he was sitting there thinking "I'd sooner be in Paris beating a real fighter than fighting in front of 50,000 in a glorified spar."

In fact his expression when Setanta cut back from the post fight interview with Haye a little early was priceless, by the look of disgust on his face he had clearly been ranting and raving about Haye and he was caught unawares by the camera coming back to him so quickly.

I think Bunce should be introduced to Eastenders as the long lost third Mitchell brother - a real hardman just like Phil and Grant.

It was like they'd been told between programs to give Haye a bit more credit.
