I think you might be closer with the first part of your prediction than with the second part.
We could maybe get a thread going with fight of year so far?

it is only a prediction but earl would prefer a tear up and khan will not be able to resist one. his corner will tell him to backtrack and box when earl gets a few in but the boy has a lot of pride and will want to show his bolton crowd that he can scrap. mark my words, both men are going to taste the other mans best shots and one will eventually yield. khan has the better power and has more in the tank with which to recover from the best of earls assaults. graham is more ring worn and will, after another great battle, be led to his corner by the referee.

Earl is not a massive puncher but he can hit and if he lands as Limond did Khan wont make the count.

In the light of both Haye's and Cotto's performances at the weekend, do any of us think that Khan's questionable chin is in part due to weight-making difficulties? After all, Cotto looks like a different fighter at Welter in terms of his chin - he weathered some huge right hands from Moseley in the early rounds and barely even blinked

Earl has a puncher's chance, just like Michael Sprott had a puncher's chance against Audley.

Nah...
Khan wins easy.

Thing is Sprott sparked Audley didnt he - Ive said before Khan will win on points if Earl cant stop him - I seriously dont think Khan will stop Graham but I do think Earl may stop Khan - Too many people seem to think Earl is a shot fighter after Katsidis but he isnt.

His recuperative powers seem very poor. When Limond was retired a couple of rounds after Khan's knockdown, Khan's head still didn't seem completely clear. When Earl clocks him, he either won't get up or he will, only for Earl to pounce and finish the job.

Earl will be up for it; last chance saloon et al....but I just don't think Allegedly would risk his golden cow at this stage.

He is just too experienced in careful matchmaking.

I would love to see Earl do it and a wager on an Earl KO is worthwhile.

As I have said before, I think ITV are pissed off with Franks careful matchmaking - Earl wants the fight, Khan wants the fight, and ITV want the fight, so Frank IMO has agreed under pressure from all sides - Anyway we will all get to see, including Frank, if Khan really is good enough to "cut the mustard" on Dec 8th.

That sounds spot on to me, with ITV dropping everyone else and keeping Khan I'm sure there must have been conditions attached. I reckon Frank has plenty of faith in Khans boxing ability, but given the choice he'd rather 'Cash Cow' him, Khan and ITV seem keen on him progressing his career alot quicker than Frank would traditionally have liked

Hmmmm...
allegedly
The theory is stupid Earl is the last man who would agree to such a deal - OK Graham hasnt had too many good paydays and is narked that Khan has - Earl has pride, the heart of a lion and more motivation to win this fight than any other he has fought in before - Every Khan opponent has been fed to him knowing they had no real chance of winning - For the first time in Khans pro career he is up against a fighter who believes he will win and can see no other result, a big difference - As I have said before I believe FW was under pressure from ITV to put Khan in a competetive bout - Any other theory is nonsense.
well lets wait till the fight.... I hope you are right, I just have a sinking feeling.

Well it looks like Khan cant win regardless in some boxing fans eyes. If he wins then Earl was a shot fighter or took money to go down according to some..if he loses then 'we told you so'...you guys got it both ways..

IMO if Khan boxes, he wins easy but if he gets into a scrap with Earl then its 60/40 in Earl's favour..

I started to lose my confidence in Earl when i learned hes only 5'5''... surely Khan can stick & move a guy that small? Then again if Earl takes centre ring and bides his time, come second half i can see Khan looking knackered again ala Limond.

Khan doesnt seem to be able to box, he fights continously trying to knock guys out.

Earl's not with Eames anymore,Graham wasnt too please when his trainer pulled him out of the KASTIDIS fight.

Yes it would be completely unnecessary to go through it all again, it was obviously the correct decision and let's leave it at that

Khan has said he wont have a toe to toe with Earl - He says he is going to use his brain and not get involved in a war - Khan knows Earl wants a punch up and he knows that would be a disaster for him - I expect to see Khan using his speed moving in and out of range - Earl will be looking to tag Khan as he lets rip with combinations leaving his chin up and unprotected.

this is what will happen; khan comes out and doesnt get involved just boxes earl and builds up a good lead by round 4. then earl catches him clean and khan wobbles, knees go, the lot. he hangs on though and survives. he boxes again but earl is getting more and more into the fight and getting thru now and again with punches that hurt khan. finally amir decides he's had enough of boxing and joins earl in a right old tear up with the result that he connects with a corker and earl hits the canvas.
he gets up but khan delivers a right to the solar plexus that finishes brave graham earl.

sorry but the bouts in my head are always better than the real ones :box:

steve689 wrote:I think it is a good test as well, we have become so used to a succession of fall over jobs being put in front of our prospects it's refreshing to see Khan in with Earl. I am starting to warm to Earl in this one as well, he has the experience and if he can weather the early storm i can well see him breaking the spirit of the greener, less experienced Amir. Khan probably hits hard enough to keep him off but he doesn't hit as ferociously as Katisidis.
Its an interesting one alright - I have to say my first reaction to the suggestion that Khan would fight Earl rather than going in with Jon Thaxton for the British belt was "is he mad?". I've had time for several other reactions since, and they've all brought me to the same conclusion - that either the Khan camp know something the rest of us don't, or they genuinely believe his hype to the letter.

How good is Earl? I'd say he was a sliver short of world class - he certainly beats Thaxton into a cocked hat every day of the week, and crucially I think the early retirement against Katsidis saved him from being hammered, and has given him something to rail against. Khan may still beat him - I'd personally say the Bolton lad wins this one six or seven of ten times - but its a very live fight indeed.
