Haye's win. After the dust has settled.

Post by WayoftheCass »

Thought it was cool of Setanta to have Enzo in the studio. He seems a thoroughly decent guy. So does Haye. But David is honest in that he can't make Heavy and Enzo is equally honest in that he is comfortable at Cruiser. As frustrating as it is we just have to face the fact that this one isn't going to happen, at least not for another year or 2 and by then who knows. I presume it would be dead in the water. Both guys are too chinny and take too many risks to be at the top for that long.
Macca needs to target Cunningham, who should be too cute for Huck, and then look out for the Arslan's, Godfrey's, Adameck's and Brudov's of this world who are very dangerous. Next I'd like to see him have a tear up with Darnell Wilson. That would be fun.
Haye vs Mormeck was entertaining. Not brilliant but worthy. Mormeck looks finished at the top now. His collapse was somewhat sudden though maybe we should pay more tribute to Haye's undoubted power. David's left was even injured or his tactics were non existent because he was just asking for it all night and almost paid for it. He won't get away with that at Heavyweight against a legit puncher.

Overall I'm glad I stayed in to watch it. Even more so now I see that howling gale outside. I could do with more quality fight nights at this time on a Saturday night to dissuade me from hitting the town so hard and pissing away too much cash and any serious gym work I did during the week.
I guess now its Match of the Day and the movie channels until Cotto-Mosely kicks off. I guess I'll confer with anyone who'll be discussing that fight in about 5 hours or so. Until then have a good one. :TU:

good thread, enzo should stay at cruiser and try to clean up, hayemaker can try and make inroads in the heavyweight division, hand pick guys who are well ranked but who can be ko'd.

Good thread from the guy from Glasgow but I have a question - How could you even consider going out tonight and miss seeing David Haye win two belts? - After all there are plenty of other nights - Sorry, I know hes English not Scottish that does make a difference. :TU:    Just pulling your leg pal. Great night of boxing from Setanta made even better with a Calzaghe interview and Enzo Mac in the studio - David Haye is an honest man, it looked like a slip in the third and we were told it was but Haye admitted he was put down - He blamed being weight drained and said this is his last CW fight - He said he would be more than happy to fight Enzo but not for the belts, it would have to be at HW - Enzo said he would love to fight Haye but not at HW because Haye would be so much heavier - Enzo said he had ambitions at CW and makes the weight easily, but if the time comes and it probably will, when he has to move up to HW, a fight with Haye could happen - So in the short term there is absolutely no chance of them fighting each other - Enzo admitted its the biggest domestic fight the British fans want to see but said it would be crazy at the moment with David being so much heavier - The finish in round 7 was good and the ex champ had no complaints - Mormeck was doing nothing in round 7 and seemed to have nothing left to offer after some heavy punching earlier on - David still looked good despite his claim that he was weight drained and did the business - Mormeck looked to me so much like Danny Williams in style and obviously hoped the big roundhouse right would do the trick - Haye looked very open carrying his left very low throughout the fight, something he needs to sort out before taking on the heavies - Anyway well done David for the win, he can now move up as a big name worldwide and try for a HW title - He said " Joe lifted the titles last week and now he has done the same, so its GO RICKY!!!!!! - God bless him, playboy or not ( they say he has a lady so maybe thats not true anymore) lets wish him well and hope he can be our next HW champ - Nice guy he deserves our full support.

AND THE NEW UNDISPUTED CRUSIERWEIGHT CHAMPION OF THE WORLD - DAVID HAYE!! :TU Congrats to David Haye - unfortunately didnt get to see the fight jus watched the ko but great night for british boxing - shame it didnt get more coverage. I guess the Enzo fight is dead in the water but as we all know money talks so if Franks can come up with enough zero's I'm sure David Haye will boil down to Crusier for one more fight....
