Haye is without doubt the number one, but I am not sure I can agree with your Hatton/Rees analogy - Haye/Macca is a fight the British public want and David stated his willingness to fight Enzo - Quite rightly David wants it on his terms at HW and Enzo isnt keen, so thats that - Maybe in 2 or 3 years if Enzo finds CW too hard to make the weight for, we may just see them both at HW, but my guess is not.yiddo14 wrote:Fvck Enzo.

Shit, we wanted it before when Haye said no options, no WBO title, let's just fight. Instead, we got a more meaningful fight - Haye-Mormeck. Haye's too smart to whistle to Warren's tune. He'd play right into their hands.
In any case, there is something massively overlooked here. Don King has many world class cruisers. He will throw every mandatory he can at Haye. Like he did when he couldn't get his claws into Lennox. He goes back a logn way with WBC's boss Sulaiman.
If Haye did keep his titles, he'd have to defend, with mandatories coming from both sides. If Haye vacated to fight Enzo, Enzo would say no I want the titles, wouldn't he?

I am led to believe it was cos the ref was Italian. Guess it must be the way they do things over there.......acknowledging the third man in the ring's part in the occasion maybe.....for me tho' a ref in any sport is there to keep order and go mostly un-noticed , so the anthem was OTT in my book.
Anyhow....reason for post, I thought Haye was shaken up pretty bad in that fight in the 3rd or 4th. Commentators seemed to intimate that it was some kind of a slip, but I thought for prolonged spells Haye looked in danger of getting banged out of there, which surprised me given the way Haye was so confident of winning. But well done to him, Mormeck was clearly a very difficult assignment and one which Haye pulled off very well. I thought he might have had a more comfortable night though than he ended up having.
My point I suppose is that he definitely needs to ease his way into the Heavy scene before jumping in too deep too soon........I mean against Bonin for example he never really got much idea (apart from the knowledge he can bang a heavy out of there) cos it was over so quickly.
