I think British Boxing is in great shape:

We have the fololwing as world champs.

David Haye WBA /WBC
Enzo WBO
Clinton Woods IBF
Joe Calzaghe WBA/WBC/WBO
Junior Witter WBC
Gavin Rees WBA

Then we got hatton fighting Mayweather.

Also these good fighters:
Moore Euro title next
Froch
Lynes Euro champ
Khan

Many others as well. Good crowds 50,000 in Cardiff 6,500 in Nottingham who said boxing was dying

Forgot to mention these fighters:

Thaxton possibly could win Euro title.
Elcock fighting for IBF title.
John Murray good prospect
Darren Barker fighting for commonwealth

Also a World Amateur champ who is gold medal favourite ahead of the Olympics - we have never been able to say that before now!

There's been a damn good prospect on Sky every week...Murray, Appleby, Truscott, Fewkes (based on Tontchev, not Reid, fight), Barker...The current crop is compelling from domestic to world. Thaxton and Moore are warriors. The young line up gives me a lot of hope for the next generation.

So, is it Meager v Romanov for the European lightweight? If Murray is gunning for Thaxton, and Romanov is meant to be coming over here for a title defense...

The fact that he medalled shows just how good he can be - his style will adapt really well to the pro game - he is a little 'open' for the amateur point scoring system though his strength and tenacity will see him go a long way as a pro.
