gotta hand it to little frank, he gambled big time when he invested in lennox lewis and was duly rewarded when the big man became one of the best heavyweights of all time and cleaned up the division.

some people crudely described frank as a lucky guy but his recent promotional role in the career of david haye could once again have 'LOTTO WINNER' written all over it for frank.

Now you think about it Frank was lucky to get Lennox, why did lennox go with Frank rather than the bigger promoters like FW. Maybe the deals were different buti suspect FW was kicking himself at the end of the day.

Rhino hate to be picky but Frank did not gamble in Lennox Lewis - the investment came from some bloke who I cannot remember the name of and then he was getting into financial difficulties or something like that and Panos Eliades came in with a good few grand to buy out the contract - it was then at that stage Frank became the boxing guru at Panix Promotions. I also have to say what an outstanding job Frank did - and as much as both myself and you liked Panos and his brother Athos - I feel Panos should have done everything and anything to keep Frank with him!!!

It was during and then after the Lewis/Botha show that cracks appeared everywhere - if you remember practically everyone was stabbing each other in the back!!! - I think it was shortly after that Frank went over to Frank W arren.

To be perfectly honest - where I thought Frank was barking mad was taking on David Haye - not because of any perceived abilities that Haye had or has but all what goes on behind the scenes - lets just say in a diplomatic way Team Haye are hard negoitiators and not the easiest people to deal with - then there is the financial rewards - I wonder if little Frank has made any money at all from dealing with Team Haye.

The money for Little Frank should be coming now - but a comment which not a lot of people have picked up on in Hayes interview after the Mormeck fight were the words ... "I'm a free agent".

F rank Maloney deserves an immense amount of credit for giving Haye the platform on Maloney Promotion shows to showcase his talents - I really do hope that Haye now repays that with allowing Frank to promote some massive shows in the UK.

Whilst many will disagree with me it is with Haye and not Lennox Lewis where Frank Maloney deserves the credit and really putting up the money for Haye.

I wonder what Team Haye's next move is.

Thank you for that it was him wasn't it that had the purse strings at first for Lennox until Panos came in there and bought the contract out - heard various figures being banded around some as high as £400k.

In reply to your post I really do hope that Haye stays with Maloney - problem is those words at the end of the interview - and what I also found strange was the "thanks" bit at the end of the interview - normally a boxer will thank the promoter for what he has done - Haye rarely mentions Frank which I think is wrong.

I honestly cannot see Haye signing for W arren. But there maybe an American promoter out there who will be very interested - and lets throw in a dark horse - what about one of the promoters in Germany. That is where the main bulk of the Heavyweights are springing from.

Perhaps by "free agent" he meant he didn't have any obligations to defend the titles?

Haye seems to like to take risks in the business side of his career as well as the fighting side, he doesn't seem to be keen on being tied down with long exclusive contracts. I'd like to see him stop with Frank, but if the US promoters start offering him BIG bucks and BIG opportunities, then that's where he'll go IMO. No way he signs for FW IMO, they have very different attitudes on how quickly a career should progress.

Hmm, he could be saying free agent for TV, free from mandatory requirements as said above.

Fraink's route has really paid off for Haye. Fraink got him an EBU belt, a WBC ranking at cruiser, several EBU defenses which Haye admits prepared him to beat Mormeck, a WBC heavyweight ranking...He got haye those fights and Haye took the gambles where necessary and it paid off.

Surely they will do the same @ heavy. Haye says in 3 years he's heavyweight champ. So it sounds like go for the European heavyweight title, pick up the things you need to succeed at the top, build up steadily.

That cruiserweight title victory gives him the ELITE standing and pedigree, and IMO he can pick some really marketable fights. If Enzo won't move up, shit, why not ask if Bell wants to move up...Fights like that would be on Showtime in a jiffy!
