I agree but I also think that Froch will command a psychological advantage because although he lost their amateur fight on the cards, the contest couldn't have ended too soon for Inkin, who was dropped heavily near the finish.

My only reservation about Carl Froch is that he sometimes wastes time trying to look good for the highlight reels and he doesn't have the upper body movement to justify that low left. It would be horrible if he was knocked out or stopped by an inferior opponent for that one stylistic defect.

Other than that, I think he could hold his own against any supermiddleweight on the face of the planet - and beat most of them too.
wouldn't say Inkin is inferior...
Neither would I and it's great that Froch is finally going to be in a fight that he isn't a dead cert to win. The point I made above was merely to highlight an intangible that Froch may have in his favour.

It could play out a lot like Haye-Mormeck, imo. Froch will have to walk through the fire to get the win (assuming he doesn't land a big bomb early), but he should have enough to get the job done around the later rounds.

Carl will have to be right down to business. Inkin just tries to break you down bit by bit. His body shots are cruel and I noticed Carl take a few downstairs from Reid. He didn't seem to like them particularly.

Froch has that look about him though. That he knows he's going to get his man. His confidence is ridiculous but that - combined with his power and deceptive punch speed - makes him a dangerous opponent. He only seems to do his best when his opponent has shown him something, which makes him unpredictable and hard to read.

Would like another Brit to come along and win a super middle title. I like Hennessy Sports (stable and fights) quite a lot & want 'em to do well.

Froch will beat Inkin but he may be a bit battered along the way.

I'm interested to see if Froch is still so confident when a fight isn't going his way. Because he will definitely lose rounds against Inkin who is far busier.

He lost some against Adamu and still showboated and seemed confident (a little too much for my liking). Its a genuinly good fight for a title eliminator/vacant title one which will show us if ether fighter is or isn't world class.

Would be good if Froch and Calzaghe win cos then we could potentualy have a champion at Super Feather (Alex Arthur) light welter (witter/Rees) welter (Hatton possibly) super middle (Froch) light Heavy (Woods/Calzaghe) Cruzer (Haye) allong with a hot prospect at Lightweight.

Anyone else remember a better time for british boxing!

He looked OK in the Brian Magee fight when the fight was in the balance

I think Froch looked good vs Magee. He never looked in real bother even when some rds were slipping away. It's like he decided now it's time and I'll get him. I don't think it was the FOTY that ppl say it is.

Magee was chasing the fight after being knocked down in rd 1.

He peppered Froch with stinging lefts the whole fight, but fair dues to Froch his gameplan knew he would catch Magee with the upper cut, and teed it up nicely.

He earned my repect after that fight, and I will be following his career closely.

Magee on the other hand is boxings nearly man.
Nearly beat Reid, nearly got a fight at Calzaghe, nearly beat froch. the list could go on.

Not quite sure I'd call him a nearly man. He boxedwell but Froch just seemed to want to draw him onto his choice punch, the right uppercut. He was down 4 or 5 times v Reid, so he would've had to do something big to win.

I felt he beat Oakey, but it was negative stuff and he got punished for it on the cards. I thought it was a bad decision as Oakey literally didn't achieve anything that night whereas Magee frustrated him.

Did you watch Magee v Reid?

Sky had Magee ahead on the cards EVEN with the knockdowns.
But they couldnt give the decidion to someone who was down 4 times.

Magee would be a world champ by now if it wasnt for his chin.

Magee would have been out of there quicker if Froch didnt snap his thumb clean off at the base in the 2nd.

He blamed the un-stitched thumb on the BBE glove for it.

Magee was unlucky against Tsypko... and didnt he KO Jeff Lacy in the am's ?
