Anybody betting on Maywather?

Post by deadpan »

No offence, but I have.

But I'll still be cheering Ricky on.

Sort of a win-win.

Unless it's a fcuking draw.

I think Joe is P4P no1, and no I wouldnt put Hatton above him if he beat Floyd, who is beatable at 147, particular against someone with Hattons style and workrate.

Yes I would have preferred Hatton to stay with Frank as he would have had three superfights by now, instead of none (with the exception of the Mayweather fight we are about to see).

I was tempted to back Mayweather but too many doubts, I can honestly see Hatton finding a way to win.

If I do bet on this one it will be small on Hatton or maybe the Draw, no way im putting much on it though.

Good shout, I reckon its definately going the distance barring cuts.

I'll have to have a Good Luck bet on Ricky (it worked against Kostya :D ), hes going to need to swamp Mayweather with a Tszyu type performance. Get in the Pretty boys face, bash him up and take him into deep water.

I have to say I think you'll be in the minority not putting Hatton as P4P No.1, which I most certainly feel he would be if he defeats Floyd. Calzaghe is a great fighter, but Mayweather has bee beating guys who are a great deal bigger & stronger than him.

Mayweather's style may not be to everyones liking, but the guy has been winning fights on sheer ability alone. Simply, he's been too good for his opponents so far. Floyd is a proper pro - always in shape, in the gym no matter what, none of that dehydrating, rehydrating process.

Do you not think that Robin Reid, Sakio Bika and Mikkel Kessler were stronget than Joe?

Dont beleive the US hype from journalists, believe what you SEE not what you hear.

Calzaghe, 12 stone since turning pro, 3 times ABA champ, consecutive at welter LM and Middle.

He is pure class.

Ask yourself this, would Floyd beat Pacquaio NOW at 130?

Calzaghe is the best in Boxing, and as good as anyone I have ever seen EVER, on tape, on telly or in the flesh.

He is boxings equivalent of maradona, and he is from the British isles.

We should be worshipping him.

Joe C is much better than Hatton, just wish they were the same weight so JC could stand Hatton on his head.

I reckon Mayweather is gonna do it, even though i'd like to see Hatton win.. Mayweather is to fast, too strong.. But saying that, Hatton has been training really hard for this one!

I don't think Mayweather could make 130lbs now, but maybe he could get down to 135lbs. Mayweather would take Pacquaio to school, who gets hit much more frquently than Mayweather does.

In my honest opinion, Floyd is the best P4P boxer in the world, followed by Calzaghe.

KO Artist, as you feel Floyd is not the best P4P, & that he wouldn't beat Pacquaio @ 130/135lbs, how big achievement will you rank a Hatton victory over Mayweather?

In my view, if Ricky wins, it's one of the most sifnificent victories by a british boxer in history. I;m not saying it will be THE best, but definately one of the best.

I f Ricky does win, I hope some experts in boxing do not try to take play down his victory saying he never fought a real Welterweight, Mayweather was past his peak etc. That would be just plain wrong!

I also, like you, feel Calzaghe has been vastly underrated in years gone by. Only since the Lacy fight has Joe been getting recogonition he derserves in the boxing world.

Mayweather is a fighter who's at his best. No one can say otherwise. At 30, he's still young, hasn't taken punishment & trains all year round, remaining in shape.

Anyway, everyone is entitled to their opinion & that's what makes boxing a great sport - having debates. Let's appreciate Mayweather & Calzaghe while they are still around & not wait until they have retired. It's not often fighters of their calibre come along!

You make Joe sound like Ray Robinson or Sam Langford. He's a great fighter, but he hasnt beaten enough great fighters to be up there with Monzon or Hagler etc. He has only just started to live up to his own hype in the last 2 years beating Lacy and Kessler. He should have taken on Hopkins and Jones years ago, not that its entirely his fault he didnt

see Mayweather winning this fight anywhere between rounds 4 and 8 or 9.
if Hatton's still in there at that point he should get through to points where I think he'll lose.
I probably won't bet as it's unpatriotic (to bet on losing) although round betting odds can be tempting. Think 33-1 on a round 7 for Mayweather etc......
Plus a bet can sometimes spoil the fun cos u kind of disappointed at some point if your bet doesn't come off.
I had a free 50 bet on Hatton to win in round 8 against Castillo and stood to pocket 2 grand, so it was good that Hatton won but wish he'd have dropped the bomb in the 8th instead!!

I've already gone for Hatton on that "British Hat-trick?" thread but I'm changing my mind now.
Floyd won't have to go looking for Ricky cos he'll be standing right in front of him having a bloody fine go at it and I have a feeling Mayweather's best form of defence from Hatton's onslaught will be to "neutralise" the attack with a slick , explosive burst of sustained accurate shots which frankly could come in any round.
Face it....would you want a fired up Hitman beating you up all night if you had the tools to stop him? I think Mayweather could duck and dive all night like we've seen him do and win on points boring but against Ricky that won't be allowed, he will have to FIGHT Hatton off or he gets KO'd himself.

Anyhow should be a great fight can't wait and hopefully I'll be proved wrong and Hatton will win......then I'll go back on the other thread and gloat about getting 3 out of 3 :D :box: :box: LET'S GET IT ON!!! :box: :box:

hatton will win

Post by pjg »

this fight has the hitman writtten all over it.
hatton has the hunger. the desire.and smart head to to win this figtht.
on the otherhand we have Mayweather.
who has a big mouth, big head, and who really has underrestimated hatton. not smart in my book. you boys who thinks mayweather will win.
you will say prittyboy has beating better fighters than the hitman.
when it comes to end of the fight. we will have a new pound 4 pound best fighter in the in world.

I have been thinking about this fight for a long time and thought about each and every outcome and not once has Hatton been the winner.

There is no way that hatton becomes P4P.

I want Hatton to win but catching mayweather is gona be a tough job for Hatton.I really think that with Hatton moving back up to Wealterweight for this fight will make him sluggish.

I see this fight going to points as i would say everybody else does aswell,Any close decisions goes in favor of the home fighter (Mayweather).
The uk fans will be in uproar and a rematch will then be made and then I THINK Hatton wins the return because Hatton wont know whats hits him the 1st time.

I don't use lines from football people.

Hatton's true level will be shown December 8th even though I want him to win.

Would you "Love it" if Hatton beat Floyd?
