Greenberg world domination on hold

The plan for Roman Greenberg was, apparently, to fight Michael Grant or Brian Minto on December 15, then Donnell Holmes in February.

What a shame - and what a coincidence - then, that he has just suffered a hand injury which requires surgery. These fights have been scrapped.

Given this bad luck, I'm sure none of us will begrudge him five or six warm-ups when he comes back, and THEN he should be ready for a big fight. Right?

Hahahahaha! I read this earlier today and i couldnt believe what i was seeing. As remarkable as it sounds for a man with 27 fights under his belt, this would be a step too far for Greenberg i think. Greenberg's not a bad boxer but he'll never be a world beater and even a washed up Michael Grant would probably prove far too much for him.

If his management had any faith in him he'd have had some kind of test by now, but it looks as though they're holding him back hoping for one big payday against a champion, which they think he'll get due to his impressive looking record and Jewish heritage.

When in his carrer was it that Sprott KOed him in sparing? Cos that seems to me like a possible reson that he never did take that step up in class. Looks like grants recent fights have been in weighting to fight a "prospect" who isn't very good.

JIm Evans mentions a big fight against ...............

Darnell Holmes, who is WBC top 10, but woeful. He has beaten the equivalent of his grandmother 25 times.

Holmes is a King stooge, planted by Suliaman, so that KIng can demnd a big purse, in case any so called prospect needs an easy route to a rating.

Hence Greenbergs management interest in fighting him.

What a state of affairs.

the donnell holmes thing is interesting...like Jd Chapman hes manged to string sum results together and gain a very high rating with sum of the alphabets without ever having fought anyone of note....OR HAVING ANY DISCERNABLE TALENT

I think there is a frustration he gets resonable press while those who have taken more difficult fights while fighters like sprott are talked about much less in more broad media outside the boxing press.

Greenberg will never, never fight a decent opponent like Minto. His management is aware he's a limited fighter and know he'll lose if he ever fights a fringe contender or even a good journeyman.

Seriosuly deluded if you think these jokers are gonna fighter each other, circus acts dont fight each other, thats what is the most appealing but all those guys are on the Shannon Briggs route shot to a title, fighting bums until they creep up and up the rankings...

I have had no time for Jim Evans since he let Sprotty go over to Germany to fight big prospect Rene Deitweller (whom he schooled) whilst he jetted off to Monaco to corner for Greenburg against the useless Alexai Varakin (whom he hiraliously struggled against).

I agree that Greenberg has regressed. He's obviously living a comfortable life and winning easy fights. Good living, I suppose. But he doesn't even look half the fighter that we saw on Sky a couple of years back. Shame that he's basically kept an amateur style and relying on raw talent which seems to be slowly going.

There are rumours that (former England wicketkeeper) Jack Russell is planning to move up from light-fly for a shot, though he has conceded that he's expecting a points shutout.
