So on the first evidence that corruption exists in boxing he quits the entire industry?
Of course if it was he had prepared physically & dropped his opponent 3 times and stopped round 1 i'm sure he would have quit the sport just the same.

Bearing in mind the background of the Euro Australian people and MTG's extreme reaction to corruption i'm not sure i rate his chances of starting a new life in Oz.

Very odd post from Martin there - I just hope he is drunk. So Jenno punches like a pussy, but still wins via first round KO. Is he tryng to insinuate that he took the money?

Even if SOME corruption does take place - but I do think it is low to be critical of a opponent who has beaten or blame an attempted corruption for a defeat. YOU lost, the man infront of you beat you - yes you might have made some mistakes, but learn from them. For my debut Amateur contest, I never saw my opponent weigh (neither did my coach or anyone apart from his coach word of mouth) - None of our team saw him untill I we were eye ball to chest in the centre of the ring. I have NO PROOF but I very much doubt he weighed 9 stone - I am 5 foot 7, so was a pretty gangly Featherweight. This guy was surely 6 foot 2, much bigger set of a shoulder than me, big defined back - and hit like a fornicating mule... he had big strong legs aswell. I have it on tape (still feel sore watching it) its like Rocky vs Ivan Drago (no exagerration at all) and I was 5 foot 7 Featherweight. Yeah he deserved the decision - although some thought a draw was a possibility. He did win rounds 2 and 3 bigger than I won 1 and 4 (if I did win them). I don't think he would be the greatest Middleweight in the world (which is what myself and my father thought he looked like) but he beat me fair and square and I learned from it - I made sure I knew all my other opponents a good 3 hours before the fight... even if they didn't weigh, I knew they were around my size.

You've just got to learn to accept the defeat - and make alterations whether they are mental, physical or organisational. If you cannot accept the loss, then bow out - nothing to be ashamed off - plenty of people have tried and not had the joy and then said this is not for me. I've always threatened to comeback after my first stoppage amateur defeat a few years back - I aint done it yet, in all honesty probably never will now- but I would hope no-one would take the piss if I didn't.

I was a 5'7" Featherweight, about 18 years ago.

In (my third I think) amateur contest I beat a kid of about 6'1, who was 59 kilos.

I was about the same weight, but he was massive.

Stu how come you were doing 4x2 rds your 1st fight its cant happen. Ive been in Boxing 48 years and never seen coruption 1st hand, but heard some hilariuos tales, Mtg is the funniest

Fair play, thats sounded an impressive win. The guy must have been a freak. They do exist - just thought it was odd that no one saw my opponent weigh - I had also been told be my coach "don't weigh" for a few fights, most of them looked roughly the same size, but I could have very well had a weight advantage.

Scrap - Yeah, your dead right - of course it should have been 3 x 2. Both of us spoke about it after (it won contest of the evening)... Just think it was a bit of a mix up with the schedules. No harm done though at the end of the day, taught me a shit load... This was at the time where there was the Welsh Amateur boxing split, so not sure if this added to the confusion. It was my only foray into the 4th round - I think my last fight was a scheduled four rounder, but didn't go that far
