Rather than Hopkins Calzaghe according to Hopkins trainer. As this could loosly be described as a fan site are you those fans or is he compleetly talking out of his arse.

God I hope so. I couldn't believe this when I read it earlier. The buy-rate on the 19th Jan will be interesting indicator.

Oh, and on the HBO BAD show on Sat, Larry Merchant said that B-Hop had told him negotiations had begun, but were at an early stage.

why do you think he needs to "shut up" woods and froch, its not as if they have been terribly unresonable by asking him to fight them. Hopkins is 43 but has beat some of the best fighters in the last 15 years and doesn't show signs of faiding.

Hopkins is a legacy fight. Woods and Froch would only confirm he's as good as we say he is and neither are all time greats.

Hopkins is one of the greatest fighters of the decade!

HOPKINS WAS AT HIS BEST 10 YEARS AGO, HIS PEAK FIGHT WAS THE GLEN JOHNSON FIGHT, AND NOW HE'S 43 FOR CRYING OUT LOUD

AS A FAN ID RATHER SEE A GOOD WAR WITH WOODS AND/OR FROCH. THESE HOPKINS AND JONES JNR FIGHTS WOULD OF BEEN GREAT 5-10 YRS AGO, BUT NOW ?? IT'D BE AN EMBARASSMENT

stop capitalising. its not about age its about fighting ability its about the reputation they have and the mixture of styles and the meaning of that fight.

I would rather he went out there and proved he is the best to america than stay hear and fought good british fighters.

Hopkins or Jones are Calzaghe's Tyson.

Without the names, he's career will be tainted, irrespective of how bloody old they are. At the end of the day, Calzaghe has aged with them too. He's 36 in the Spring (?).

Personnally, I think this is HOP negotiating, repelling the theory Calzaghe is his ONLY fight.

But of course, he needs a Jones win. Because a rematch with Tito at 168 or 175, is less attractive because he beat the snot out of him already at 160; closer to Tito's prime and prime weight.

I think Calzaghe will chase CHad Dawson if HOP plays hard ball or go for Jones/Tito himself.

I think Dawson is the most loseable fight of the lot.

I don't think Calzaghe goes anywhere in Chad Dawson's vicinity, myself. Dawson is maybe the youngest, fastest most accomplished young champion out there. Also, it'd give a Gary Shaw fighter a chance to beat a Warren fighter. Dawson has no name appeal to go with his abilities, either.

All I can say is, they'd better grab this "cash in" fight soon or there may end up being no cash in. Warren says that HBO see Calzaghe as the star attraction. hopkins wants 60-40. Sounds dead to me...

I already hear that Hopkins is looking for a Winky rematch (though HBO don't have to approve this and shouldn't - ever). Then there's Hopkins vs Tito/Jones Jr Winner... And that Woods is looking up some Aussie opponents like Paul Briggs and Danny Green, who fights for the WBA belt next month.

This is what will happen: they'll all leave the bloody Chris Almighty behind, where he has NO big fight. Warren's column says something about Kely Pavlik being a bigger fight but how long will it be till Pavlik's ready?

BHop stands alot more chance of beating RJJ than he does Calzaghe and its bigger money for him, so I reckon thats the one he'll go for given the choice.

How is Joe supposed to fight a 'legend' if they refuse to fight him, because he hasn't fought a 'legend'. BHop has shit himself End Of. JC-Froch is the fight I'd prefer to see, but I reckon Woods would be higher up JC's list

Yes I think so - though I'm sure Hop would prefer a mega bucks Jones rematch, as it's one he'd win, whereas he'd lose to JC.

Took him 10 years to start calling for a Jones rematch though didn't it.

Totally agree, Hopkins is by far the toughest fight, with the exception of Carl or Pavlik/Taylor.

He's 43 but has also just beaten Tarver and Wright....
