Mayweather - Hatton 24/7
Thanks for the links to the 24/7 program. I'll still watch it again on wednesday. I love the behind the scenes stuff in boxing even of it is done with HBO drama. The build up to Mayweather-DLH was probably even better than the actual fight helped massively by the 24/7 show.

Floyd Mayweather won't land a 'triple right hand' on Hatton. Why Hatton would be out of range long enough to be hit with one is beyond me. Trust me on this, Ricky Hatton is a smart, clever fighter. A lot smarter than he gets credit forclassboxer wrote:No one has ever seen Floyd forced to stand and trade with no option to fight,it can happen when running is not an option in a fight.Smigga wrote:If he does i will be doubling my bet on Ricky to stop him lateclassboxer wrote:Ricky Hatton quote 24/7

btw
Floyd may be forced to stand and fight, watch out Ricky....
He's not the p4p worlds best for nothin'... He's no idiot of course he's gonna box and run.
He waited 6 rds against Oscar so DLH could tire out. It's not gonna happen to Hatton
Plan B is to box and run. which he will do. And could make it very boring.
Remember when Lloyd Honeyghan made the P4P NO1 Don Curry quit and give up ?
Floyds different, watch out for those triple rights hand leads, Ricky may force the issue then those triple right hand leads will be coming or maybe Mayweather will give up and run
(i doubt it)

I do give Hatton credit for being a smart fighter, but no mattter how smart you are in the boxing ring when you get tired you just get less "smarter" things slow down when you are tired.Smigga wrote:

(thats when Ricky may taste triple right hand leads)
Ricky hatton will go in there and be determined to win the first round and the 2nd and the 3rd round,i get the feeling this will be so and i am sure anything Zab Judah can do, Ricky Hatton can do better,Ricky will be trying with all his heart to bust up Floyd and i am sure he will, problem is its a 12 round fight
A lot of people say they admire Mayweathers skills, its rare to hear people respect Mayweathers grit and how tough Floyd is,things may change after this fight
We shall see mr Smigga
He's hardly a boxer you'd call tough is he?classboxer wrote:I do give Hatton credit for being a smart fighter, but no mattter how smart you are in the boxing ring when you get tired you just get less "smarter" things slow down when you are tired.Smigga wrote:

Here's the thing.... Hatton won't tire. He has twice the engine Zab Judah had/has and is a lot more relentless, aggressive and fitter than DLH was in their fight.
I hope pro Mayweather keep underestimating Hatton... I definately hope TEAM Mayweather do..... I'll be a rich man

ricky didnt look his usual powerful self at 147 and tbh he was hanging on for grim death at the end.
i thought he lost that fight if i`m honest.
its a pity the fight couldnt have been made at 140, i`d feel more confident.

Not quite as good as my Gemma Atkinson dream :PRiddick Blowe wrote:I watched 24/7 last night, went to bed and had a dream that I was hatton fighting mayweather in a big house with his kids running around. My God, the American's know how to do hype, don't they?
Glossy, over the top, filled with sweeping generalizations and over simplifications: perfect.
One thing I particularly loved was Mrs Hatton telling Ray off for slamming his hand on the table, because it might send vibrations to the microphone. It was typical Northern, special telephone voice stuff.
Oh ray, we're being interviewd by haich beey oohhh, do beehafe.

???????
I agree Hatton has a good engine, but against the class of PBF this will not be enough. Granted Hatton is strong & has tremendous work rate, but i feel he will be outclassed. PBF's defense will not allow Hatton to get inside, & Ricky hasn't exactly got a 'one punch KO' so will be relying on workrate & pressure.
I just can't see Hatton winning, PBF has too much class & ability for him.

In all probability, the result will be Mayweather W12. But to say that there's no way Hatton could win betrays the thought process of somebody who is only on here to irritate, prone to embellishment, or a dullard.Southpaw Stylist wrote:Let's not let the hype get to our heads.
There is NO WAY Hatton could beat Mayweather. It will be another 12rd decision from the most skilled fighter I've ever seen.
And if Mayweather's the most skilled boxer you've ever seen, I suggest you revisit some old boxing videos.
Floyd, if he'd have fought in the early 80's aginast Ray Leonard, would have been knocked out.
Go and tell Castillo, Maussa, Mike Stewart, Pendelton, Peacock(who you'll know, being a scouser) thatJCB123 wrote:Ricky hasn't exactly got a 'one punch KO' so will be relying on workrate & pressure.
If Hatton catches ANYONE to the body they are going, he doesn't need a barrage of shots to do it, one does it. You'd know that tho' being an expert
You don't know your boxing. NO WAY? Of course there is a waySouthpaw Stylist wrote:Let's not let the hype get to our heads.

And as mentioned.... You wanna broaden your horizons a little, get some Robinson and Leonard tapes

If Hatton pressured behind a jab like De La Hoya, then maybe he'd have a chance.
But Instead he walks right at you then dives In with rough housing and great body shots which Floyd will figure out. Callazo figured him out too late.
Is Hatton's stamina really still what It used to be though as well? He gassed vs Urango and Castillo only lasted 4 rounds.
Hope Ricky does It though.

I'm as much an expert as you are, i can have my opinion as much as you can have yours. No need for snide comments!!!!You'd know that tho' being an expert
That apart, Hatton does not knock people out, he has a great ability to wear opponents down, but hasn't got devastating one punch knockout power. Yes he has a superb body shot, but does not put people to sleep (Maussa bein an exception, who's chin was flyin that high it was impossible to miss)
I feel that PBF's chin will not be exposed, & his tight compact defense will leave Hatton exhausting all his ideas
No one is saying his chin will be exposed....JCB123 wrote:I'm as much an expert as you are, i can have my opinion as much as you can have yours. No need for snide comments!!!!You'd know that tho' being an expert

why hit a man all night long in the chin if he has never been down in his life?
Ricky is hardly gonna go headhunting, is he
There's not a chance PBF's chin will be exposed & Hatton would be very foolish to go head hunting, because he doesn't possess the KO power to go head hunting, plus he would never catch Floyd. Out of Hatton's 31 KO's have actually been knock outs? Compare Hatton's 31 KO's with Benn's 35 KO's for example. (Maybe an unfair comparison due to weight etc, but i'm trying to prove my point that Hatton does not have KO power compared with Benn in their respective weiht divisions)
Hatton should & will stick to what he does best, which IN MY OPINION BEING THE EXPERT will not be enough to attain the victory

And comparing Hatton and Benn....? What's the point in that? Different eras, legacy's, weights, styles, people. The only thing they have in common is they are English
Read the original post!!(Maybe an unfair comparison due to weight etc, but i'm trying to prove my point that Hatton does not have KO power compared with Benn in their respective weight divisions)
i was merely trying to provide an example of 'one punch KO power', thus proving my point that Hatton does not possess it

That might not be true, you don't see the really elite fighters getting stopped, or even dropped, by body shots: Robinson, Duran, Hagler, Monzon etcTerry D wrote: Anyone can be KO'd by a body shot.
Ali went 40 odd rounds with the ultimate body puncher, Frazier, and never seemed close to going over from a body shot.
Maybe Floyd, who's looked it at times, is up there with the greats.
Great body shot by Ricky against Castillo, but as alot of us said before the fight, the truth is: that was an old and faded Castillo in there.
