Featherweights: Barry McGuigan vs Danny Lopez

Post by elmersalsa »

A better fight than McGuigan vs Steve Cruz...Some knockdowns...What if the fight is in London, England? Would Lopez come out victorious?

Both men had incredible stamina and had a high punch output, but the power edge is significantly in favour of Lopez. I do think though that Barry beats the living daylights out of Danny in the early going as he was such a slow starter, probably even knocking him down in the process.

But eventually McGuigan walks into that atomic right hand of Little Red`s and gets flattened for the count. To beat Danny you had to use a lot of angles and lateral movement and never stay too long in his punching range like Sanchez and Chacon did.

Barry only knew one way to fight though and that was to come forward, looking to wail away at his foe`s midsection... and if you walked right into Danny even if you had beat the snot out of him for x amount of rounds, eventually he would catch you and drop you like a sack of wet cement with that booming right of his.

Danny by KO in 10 in a wild fight.
