I know McCline refused to spar lewis in the run up to the Klitschko fight turning down a few $100,000 and the expiriance of sparing with the best HW of his generation which he would have learned a lot in. What a tool.

I dont completely blame him if it was full cotnact sparing. No one wants to take a pasting from Lewis for small change

probably no surprises here but didn't Glenn McCrory go something like 100 rounds with Mike Tyson without ever getting floored - not a bad achievement if it's true like. (not all at once you understand)

Erik didn't drop him but certainly was very comfortable with sparring Kessler. Erik or Sergey don't go out to hurt opponents, the Sergey KO was an accident I am sure.

Erik has sparred many top guys (kessler, Beyer, Erdei, Veit, Eastman, Brewer) and always said the hardest guy to spar with is Carl Froch.

Not a rumour because I saw it myself: Kessler annihilated (no, not too strong here) Bika when they fought. To the extent that Bika stopped their planned sparring and left.

Kessler looked like shit sparring with Soliman and Taymour. I guess he felt Bika was more of a real treat in terms of being a future potential opponent, so he wanted to show him the reality of things, whereas he never really bothered with showing the others anything other than practizing moves and stuff. I think he was boxing more for real vs. Bika - and Bika didn't like it.

However, I have also heard Temour say that Froch is the hardest he has sparred with.

Bika said after his fight vs bute that bute was in the same league than calzaghe, but kessler was a monster.

A past it Greg Page used to raise his game sparring Tyson in the late 80s. Tyson had a thing for Pages then-wife plus once licked his teenage daughters ear but i think Page only found this out years later.

Anyways sparring before Carl Williams or a scheduled Ruddock fight in 89 Page bust Tysons rib and later in Tokyo put him on the deck with a right hand, filmed before the press.

Might be true with the other lads he spars. But not with Anthony Crolla they have 50 50 spars. Khan is quality though one of the best prospects I have ever seen.

yes and no. No it doesnt in the grand scheme of things, or in the result book. But if boxer A handily outboxes boxer B for 12 rounds, then gets caught napping with 20 seconds to go, well, it kinda does make a difference to the end perception of the fight. Does to me anyway.
