Santos lines up his next challenger
Santos lines up his next challenger
WBO light-middleweight champion Daniel Santos defends his title against an opponent still to be announced in Louisville, Kentucky, on February 27. That opponent could have been Wayne Alexander of course, mandatory contender to Santos until he was shocked by Delroy Mellis in November. Alexander deserved a 'world' title crack for going the traditional British and European title route on the way up. Given a few rust-shedding fights it could still happen for the hard-hitting Croydon man. Boxing fans have short memories.
Re: Santos lines up his next challenger
Out of curiosity, is Santos still with Sports Network?

Afraid i disagree here, i have never seen anything at all from Alexander apart from a big punch, his defense has always been painfully none existent and i doubt he could run after a slick fighter like Santos for 12 rounds trying to land and hope to win. It worked against people like Pizzamiglio and Ojay Abrahams (after he had climbed off the deck twice first mind you) but his wild haymakers and open style would make him easy pickings for the classier Santos IMO.hitman_hatton1 wrote:wayne alexander for me would have sparked santos when he was at his best, but unfortunately time has passed and the opportunity has slipped away
