Boxing on ANTIQUES ROADSHOW

Post by jimglen »

has anyone ever seen Boxing items on the show?

Is the show still in production(?), and could they be persuaded to do a feature show on Boxing; it is an English sport after all, with well over 200 years of history/memorabilia. The stuff that must be out there, and not just in the possession of collectors either!

I'm sure the show is still in production. I see it on PBS every day in San Diego. I think it would be hard to convince them to do a "boxing only" show, but some of us can share the things we've collected over the years. I'll start. An autographed autobiography of Henry Armstrong by Hammerin' Hank and Jack Johson's signature on an old Police Gazette

Bob Brettle's silver belt was on there a few years back. I think it was one of his descendents that was on the show.

Brettle split 3 bouts with Jem Mace fro the welterweight championship of England.

didnt someone bring archie moore to the show a few years back?
arthur negus looked him over and said "hhmm, i think its mahogany, in very good condition for its age. you'd probably get a pretty penny for it at auction"
