Hi boxrec guys!
Czech boxer Tomas Adamek is having now wrong rating account. His present division is "super_middleweight" and he (guest) won his last match on 27th October in Prague against Davide Deriu (home boxer) from "Light-heavyweight" division by KO in 4th round. Now, Adamek has lower amount of points than before. He also didn't get any points for move from heavier to lighter division. Siam Boxing Club paid for registration of its boxers and it will never happen again, if Boxrec will witness such incorrectness.
Retrieve this mistake please a.s.a.p. because next week Adamek is going for next match.
Thank You.

Re: czech Tomas Adamek wrong rating
Boxers do not keep their points, when moving up or down the divisions. Their score may increase or decrease depending on the strength of the division they are assigned to.siam wrote:Hi boxrec guys!

This is what i mean. If i am not wrong, the rating rules (encyclopedia) say , that boxer's score should be increased when moving from heavier division to lighter.
However this the minor point; the main problem is that Adamek had 170pts before mentioned bout, then he received only 4pts for victory by KO and then he lsot 8pts. Thus at the present his score is 166pts, i.e. lower than before.
Where is the guarantee that Adamek won't lose any other points despite of his success? This should be sorted out before he will attend next match.
Thanks

After the score is increased or decreased, it is then modified based on the strength of a division. When a boxer moves divisions, you should be focused on the ranking, not the points, as each division is calculated differently depending on its strength.siam wrote:This is what i mean. Tomas Adamek rating
ok. Adamek's manager told me that his rating was stated in accordance to moving from light-heavyweight division to super-middleweight onto 170pts, aprox. 60th position of super-middleweight division respectively. Just before the mentioned match on 27th of October...
SO NOW; Tomas Adamek (super-middle weight, guest boxer, 170pts before match)won and knocked out Davide Deriu (light-heavyweight, home boxer, 46pts before match) in 4th round from 8. Why did Adamek first receive 4pts (only! according to boxrec rating formula it should be ca. 24pts)? Hence, few days after Adamek lost 6pts (his score amounted that time 168pts) and next few days later he lost another two points and his score is from then till now 166pts, i.e. lower then before match against Deriu and consequently his ranking is worse too. Thus, is here someone able to explain the matter of that?!?
Thanks

Boxers accumulate a base point amount (you cannot see this amount). It is then modified based on the strength of a division.
A boxer's points may change daily, if the determined strength of a division changes. A boxer's ranking may change because other boxers elevate above them.
There is no human intervention in this calculation. It is automated and performed by a computer.

Re: Tomas Adamek rating
... going with BoxRec's published formula a boxer with 170 points having KOed or TKOed an opponent with 46 points wins 2 additional points ...siam wrote:ok. - additionaly there was a bug fix in the rating program, which may have had an influence to the ratings
- and last not least the ratings may change as JCS described
Hey guys, i really don't want to bother You, but...
I computed the rating on my own in accordance to the BoxRec's formula and i am pretty sure that Adamek should receive not only 2pts but ca. 24pts. Tomas Adamek was GUEST boxer, despite that he is czech boxer and the match was taking place in Prague. That's because, that Davide Deriu was hired by promotion agenture, which held this bout. So Davide Deriu was considered as a home boxer. Those circumstances, in my opinion, influence the formule and You did not take it into account. Your recent response didn't satisfy us. Thus, check this once again, respecting all mentioned factors please. Secondly, Tomas Adamek is going for next match already on 29th of November 2007 and it would be very nice to have it sorted out till then.
Thanks for Your willingness and that You will not waste our credit and money.
