Hatton vs Mayweather referee?

easy all,

does anyone know if the ref has been selected for this bout? id imagine there will be a bit of drama about this as some ref's are not big fans of in fighting ect..

if anyones got any info it would be greatly appreciated..

Provided it ain't Shady Floyd Cck Scker Jay Nady or Steve Smoger I'll be happy. Don't think it'll be announced until nearer the time.

I read somewhere the other day that there is a short-list of 3: Bayless, Nady and Cortez. I hope, for Hatton's sake, it's not Jay Nady!

I doubt Hatton's team would accept Nady as Ref after his pre-Baldomir fight speech to Mayweather. Cortez would be the wisest choice IMO.

Nady will not be the ref as far as I hear.

Let's hope so, not only does he not allow infighting he also doesn't give foreign fighters too many favours.

Nady is very anti-foreigner as he showed in Eastman-Joppy and Rahman-Maskaev II. But he couldn't get away with that policy in such a massive fight. They should give it to Kenny Bayless, not many better at the moment.

But not Eddie Cotton...he's terrible

Well Cortez was telling Castillo and Hatton to break alot, but wasn't in danger of taking points from anyone.

And you'd think there would be far less clinching in this match up anyway.

.....Cortez has his moments but overall is a decent and very experienced ref, he won't be easily influenced by the inevitable pre-fight tactics by the Mayweather team

didnt catch that...but it wouldnt surprise me!!

as long as he didnt do anything biased toward floyd in the baldo or genaro hernandez fights!! as far as i can remember, there was nothing out of sync with his reffing in either fight...IMO the hatton fans are worried his refusal to allow john ruiz' usual tricks against roy jones means he will do the same for hatton, which is quite possible!!

as long as nady (or WHOEVER gets the floyd-ricky assignment) isnt any more biased against ricky hatton than davey parris was against kostya tszyu, then there shouldnt be any major complaints!!

I think a lot was made out about what Nady said to Floyd prior to the Baldomir fight, however, he said the same thing to Baldomir it just wasn't captured on the Sky broadcast.
