The Tackie fight is by far my favourite Hatton performane. Arguably the best he's boxed/fought.

I just hope his elbow is fine now, and he can utilise his jab as a set up, cos he didn't really against Castillo. But that could be because he wanted it to be all action.

What is Hatton's reach like compared to Floyd's?
Floyd - 72? (between 70 and 72) Ricky - 66

Castillo - 70ish
Delahoya - 72-73

the reach thing may be negligible. it's what you do with the reach as well. hatton for example gets his feet into position WAY faster than castillo...

I can see Floyd winning say the first 3 or 4 rounds before Ricky wins one himself - Ricky will be looking for the bodyshot which wont be easy with Floyds tight guard but sooner or later Ricky will land a rib cracker and Floyd will have to admit defeat. Go Ricky!!!!

Ricky's speed of foot is way superior to that of the current version of Oscar. He looked like he was walking through mud with lead boots on against Floyd.

As for power, DLH probably has greater one-punch power with his left hook (though I've never seen him throw one as devastating to the body as Ricky did against JLC), but Hatton has more "consistent" power. By that I mean Oscar throws quite a lot of pitty-pat shots and range finders before letting the big one go, whereas Hatton throws every punch as though his life depended on it.

This is a much harder fight for Floyd than the glorified sparring session against DLH. My original prediction was Ricky by SD (though should be UD), but I'm now leaning towards a stoppage in 10, with Floyd being retired with a shoulder or hand "injury", also known as a battered ribcage.

I agree with the outcome, though I think Ricky will start fast and dictate the pace. Good to see you back, Waylon. Your absence did not pass unnoticed!

Yes but Mayweather should have faster feet than Hatton to add to the 7inch reach advantage. And Mayweather against Castillo may have been an off night and he maybe better equiped now than he was then - he won't be massively outweighed as in the Castillo fights, hes stronger now, his skills may have developed further.

I don't think that Floyd does have the quicker feet. He uses upper body movement, not his feet to get out of trouble.

Castillo was lazy in their second fight, and he let Floyd pick him off, whereas Hatton won't allow that.

Thanks Chesh, nice of you mate - Wifes 86 year old aunt had a boulder the size and shape of a farmhouse loaf through her living room window up in Yorkshire - Straight through the double glazing and ended up on the far side of the room, some force behind that - The only decent thing about whoever did it was that he waited for her to go to bed - The whole thing made her ill so we have had to look after her a bit and be noticed in case they return - Hopefully back to normal now - Definately not kids or anyone trying to break in and I dont want to say more on here.

Overhand how do you figure hatton is going to win? i remember the boxrec days of yore when you dismissed him as a chav when he was racking up wbu 'defences'. styles make fights and tzsyu is no floyd..

Hatton's workrate, body punching and pressure vs Mayweather's movement and hand speed. Classic match-up really. I remember writing on here a year or two ago that I fancied Hatton to impose his style on Mayweather and grind out a points win.

I stand by that, although I can envisage a scenario where Hatton can't quite catch up with Mayweather, gets marked up and outpointed.

Just hope it's on TV down here!

Rickys gameplan should be late stoppage or 12 round decision. Just keep working and getting the rounds in the bag. When Floyd is pushed back he very rarely fights back, and only with the odd potshot. In training Ricky should be working non stop on closing the distance and get his body in the best shape ever. Work work work, no time to breathe. Every time Floyd tries to get distance, close him down. Floyd takes surprisingly long to get set, I think Ricky can really take advantage of that.

Oscar will go down as a greater boxer than Ricky, but styles make fights and guys with Rickys style are and always have been the solution to slick boxers like Floyd. Oscars style was the worst possible for beating Floyd, and he almost pulled it off. Rickys got nothing to fear.

I agree that Hatton's style is the worst possible for Floyd.

It's somewhat akin to the style of Glencoffe Johnson v Roy Jones.
