Carl Johannson

Post by stujones »

Has anyone heard of the British exile, he seems to be doing very well in the Super Featherweight devision over in America. He's 14-1 and seems very ambitious

Britishboxing.net have done an insightful with his manager John Durkin , who talks about potential match ups with Harrison, Arthur, Gomez and Lear and also the fact that they are looking for a world title fight in the not to distant future.

It is quite possible that given Freitas' move up that Britain will have a major world champion at this weight, but to be honest I'd never even thought of Johannson as a possibility.

What does everyone think of this?

Yes, they're interested in young new talent. I must be getting past it...

Completely different thing, one is a forum the other is a website. I think one can be the best website, the other can be the best forum. Not that I'm saying Britishboxing.net is there yet (as the best site) but as Chris said, its heading upwards.

I do think Kev has to be applauded for the massive upgrade in the site in recent weeks.

I've seen him a couple of times. Nice little fighter. He trains just up the road from me in Long Branch.

Stu,

Thanks for the comments, entirely agree, BritishBoxing.net still has a long way to go, but things are looking good for 2004.

As far as record sites go, Boxrec is the best, but I hope mine will be up there with the others for British Boxing soon, and the record section will just keep growing too
