No, Gary has always been prepared to step in with tough opposition since his junior amateur days.

Judging by his two displays post-Facey (admittedly against lower-tier opposition), he looked very good and I think he learned a lot from defeat.

Agreed, Moore is a class above, but Woolcombe isn't a bad bet for a vacant title, should Moore abdicate.

Woolcombe's talented for sure and has a lot of experience to call upon, just not at a Brtish title level, this he still has to gain.

I'm not saying he will win the British title (yet) but if he said he will step in with anyone, he will.

I know he appeared to opt out of a southern area title fight with Anthony Small, but that will be to do with his management team. Gary, himself, has always shown he is prepared to take on anyone.

Woolcombe is still a very good talent, i was surprised with his showing against Facey, maybe he was over confident and thought he'd take Andrew out early, when that didn't happen the nerves kicked in.

Don't think the loss will have down him any lasting damage, Facey showed against Moore that he's a handful, so no shame in the loss for Woolcombe.

I'd still put him ahead of Anthony Small in the race for a British title.
