Arthur Grigorian is a whopping 5/1 against Acelino Freitas

Bet365.com are offering odds of 5/1 on Arthur Grigorian to beat Acelino Freitas. That's big. Yes, the unbeaten Freitas is rated as one of the best pound-for-pounders in the game, but Grigorian is also unbeaten and a proven fighter at lightweight, unlike Freitas.
Furthermore, the Brazilian's attacking style has left him vulnerable to opponents in the past, as highlighted in his last fight, when Argentina's Jorge Barrios dropped him twice. Mmmm. Interesting.

Well, as a mentioned I had the feeling Grigorian would be one of the bigger underdogs for a defending champion in a non unification fight. So I actually expected odds of 7 or 8-1.

But even at 5-1 its is tempting, but you've got to fancy Freitas.

I personally think that the Odds will be vidicated come fight time.

However i am going for a points win, not a KO.

I fancy a Freitas KO. I think he'll comfortably carry his power up (it must have been killing him to make super feather) and looking at Grigorian's track record he's never faced anyone with Freitas' power - it should shock him. Furthermore, Grigorian is getting on a bit now and has struggled with lesser fighters than Freitas. It's too easy to forget because of his awesome power that Freitas can box a bit when he has to - witness the controversial win over Casamayor.

Yeah he's a big hitter alright, and due to his boiling down regime he'll probably still hit hard enough at 135 you'd think....but he's a bit crude at times and can be put over too - a bit like Naz in that it's often because he's off balance.

So I wouldn't be suprised to see him put down in this fight, assuming King Artur hasn't slipped too badly - and if that happens, the champion might get some momentum going and outbox him for a points win.

That's how I'd look at it if I wanted to try my luck on 5-1 odds anyway. Like I've said, a few years back I think the champ would be a good bet to retain...not so sure now - he looked bad last time out.
Still those odds are tempting - I think it'll go 12 rounds too.
