The ABA Boxing Independent Men's World & European amateur boxing rankings for the month of November are now released.

Also added Men's Asian, American & African monthly rankings to the website & Junior World amateur boxing rankings for November.

wow we have 2 top p4p fighters in the world andrade - 1 and warren -2 luis yanez is also in there!! very proud!!!

Great work ABA but I´m sorry I must critize your american P4P ranking. How can Yudel Jhonson Cedeno be ranked third when he hasn't won a Cuban championship since 2002 (he didn't even medal this year) and his only important result since his olympic silver medal in 2004 is a gold medal at the 2006 Central American & Carribean Games.
Compare that to Yordenis Ugas who has won gold at the 2005, 2006 and 2007 Cuban championships Playa Giron and gold medals at the 2005 World Championships, 2006 World Cup, 2007 Pan American Games, 2005 Pan Ameican Championships and 2006 Central American & Carribean Games. He's only ranked 10th but has won way more than any other fighter in the top ten. Sorry but Ugas must be in the top three.

Thats the American rankings, Demetrius Andrade is number 10 in the World P4P rankings.
I think the Americans did very well at the World Championships, if only they traveled to Europe more to take part in the Tournaments, who knows what they could do.

If thats the only fault you see they i will take that as good news

I agree about Cedeno, but its the Silver Olympic medal that carries him, and the way i work the points out. I also dont include National Championships, as i would have to for every country & i cant get all results. Good news in 08 Olympics he will lose the points so then it might be more accurate. Unless of course he is in the team and wins a medal.

So the P4P rating is based on a points system? But how can Luis Yanes who didn't even medal at the worlds be ahead of Ugas? Both are Pan Am champions but Ugas has won the World champs, World Cup, Pan American Championships and Central Amercian & Caribbean Games the last few years. If Yudel Jhonson maintains his points from 2004 then Ugas should get credit for his wins too, shouldn't he?

The new website looks great. Sorry the forum didn't work out lately. A couple of years ago it had great activity.

Interesting because any discussion about boxing is a positive. I don't have to agree with the rankings to find them interesting.

If anyone doesn't like them they can take the time to make their own and explain their reasons. I will just use yours!

Dennis, am I being paranoid or are you incinerating that I don't like ABA's "independent" rankings? I have absolutely no problem with them, as long as it is known that they are not official.

Mel you are being paranoid again.

I wasn't insinuating anything about you. I was actually saying that locoxelbox could come up with his own competing rankings or just keep giving the reasons why he doesn't agreee with them. I find the comments interesting and in some cases enlightening. I don't know enough about a lot of boxers from other countries to question ABA's rankings.

Thanks for confirming that I'm being paranoid today. I also agree that anyone who grouses about an independent ranking system without coming up with one of their own shouldn't grouse. It's raining here today and I think my brain is getting water logged.

Are the rankings in this link fair? Is the USA lacking a top 15 ranked fighter at middle weight, light heavyweight, heavyweight, and super heavyweight?

It is based upon past accomplishments and most of the US boxers don't have a lot of international experience. By this time next year, I would hope the USA would have a number of them ranked in the top 15.
