Yeah, put as starkly as that, it does look bad.

I believe he struggled badly last time out (but was thumbed in the eye, apparently).

Just hope he hurries to 300 via a quick succession of four-twos and then bids goodbye.

Peter Buckley has been a credit to professional boxing,without the likes of Buckleys.Pro boxing wouldnt last.

If you look at his record,out of 248 losses,He has only been stopped 10 times which is amazing.

The only guys to stopped him were Naseem,Bradley Price,Colin Mcmillan,Paul Lloyd,Duke Mckenzie x2,Martin O'malley,Richard Evatt,Acelino Freitas,Gregorio Medina And has only been stopped once since 1999.

im not buying into another buckley appreciation thread.... he does not try to win, therefore has no place in pro boxing anymore. this type of journeyman has had his day. at least the smith boys have a go.

Buckley has saved so many shows over the past few years.

Someone on here said they could walk off the street and beat him now I'd love to see that, Buckley would take them to school.

Does anyone know roughly how much he gets per contest?

Wouldnt it be a fitting end if, for his 300th bout, he came out with the intention of winning, put his all into it.

Your probably thinking of my thread.

I didn't say I COULD beat him (I'm much too big, anyway), but I wondered if somebody like me at the weight could.

Not because this person was better than Buckley (obviously not!), but because I wondering if Buckley would even TRY to win nowadays, or if he would even realise he had a beatable opponent in front of him.

They are not all losses, bout 30 fights(18 months) ago he had a draw with Sean Hughes, the same fighter that just turned over current British champion Esham Pickering

Good point, Coco. I was there and Buckley certainly tried that night.

He hasn't been stopped in 163 fights

That's some going....

People can say they don't agree etc and that's perfectly ok but the man makes a good living doing his job, which is fighting, surviving and not getting hurt for another payday a week or two later.

TKO/KO/RSC is 28 day suspension. He hasn't had one of them since 1999

Look at the people that couldn't stop him

I agree that you don't want too many of them in the sport, but the odd few are OK IMO.

Although i said this on the other Buckley thread, I saw him try against West Brom's Wayne Downing in March. I, as did a few others at Burton's Meadowside Leisure Centre, thought he deserved a draw.

Downing beat him by one round, by the way.

I'd like to think you were referring to women but will presume you mean punches...

I've taken very few as it happens. I'm a fan, but an armchair one. My sport was athletics and it was bad enough my pride being hurt by a loss without the rest of my body being badly hurt too!

In all seriousness I have every respect for anybody that boxes because I don't think it's something I could do, as much as I may wish to think otherwise.
