Calzaghe's going to lay a spanking on Woods.

Calzaghe wouldn't of let Johnson land those slow old man straight shots.

Boxing Is weak In America at the moment anyway outside the welterweights.

Not a fight I particularly want to see, Calzaghe will spank Woods. Hopkins may have a very negative style these days, but he'd give Calzaghe a tougher fight and it means more to boxing.

warren wants to get in as many cardiff paydays as he can while calzaghe is still a major hot property.

i still wouldn't rule out a summer fight with hops though.

Woods is probably more game that B-hop.... and maybe tougher to stop.

The reality is i wouldn't expect Calzaghe to stop either of them, more like throw more shots and take a points win.

But the Hopkins fight is certainly more of a spectacle than this... more of an event.

This is watchable, but is hardly the 'mega fights from now' that Frank and Joe promised would follow the Kessler victory.

More of a return to form.

The sweet victory over Lacy was quickly replaced with the sour taste of Manfrodo and Bika.

I get the feeling we shall see Woods then maybe someone like Anthony Mundine in 2008.

Hopkins wants the fight In June and Calzaghe rightly doesn't want to wait that long.

This fight won't happen surely? Isn't Woods with the same promotional team that once claimed Matthew Hatton was going to fight Arturo Gatti? (That was before the Hatton's jumped shipped obviously).

It wouldn't be surprising if this was a bargaining tactic by Calzaghe's representatives to bring somebody else's price down.

If it does happen, there is only winner. Clinton Woods is one of the nicest guys in the game, but I feel his title run owes a lot to fortune.

Gonzales twice, DeLisle just before and after and an over hyped Ricardo Hoye. Its hardly the same form as dominating Lacy and Kessler is it!

Thsi fight is a waste of time and a backwards step for Joe. Hopkins is still class and represents a harder fight, hugely more lucrative and massively higher profile.

It would be dumb for Team Calzaghe to agree to this fight.

hops is one of the toughest guys to ever enter the squared circle.

woods has been on the verge a few times in fights.

You're damn right there, although I cat see him getting another 50,000 for a fight with Woods.

IMO Joe NEEDS to go to the U.S. and fight Hopkins/JonesJr/or preferably Pavlic to cement his legacy.

I think Calzaghe should go ahead and fight Woods in late winter or early spring, and then finish his career by fighting Roy Jones Jr in late summer, either in the US or Britain. Jones said he would be willing to come to Britain to fight Joe. Mary Hopkins doesn't really want to fight him, so they should give up the frustrating negotiations with her.

stop shitting on Woods. The guy's turned his career around and won a belt. The IBF did give him a lot of chances, but now they're throwing the same opponents at him. Clinton proved himself vs Johnson and was nowhere near his best with the bad elbow.

don't forget Joe hasn't exactly been glorious over the years. he had the couple of great wins, yet he struggled with reid and woodhall. ok, joe is a beter fighter now - still fit, and has the extra experience - but woods will give him a fight.

Joe will be at a bigger weight. How does anyone know he'll be that good vs bigger men who can push him back. Bika matched him for strength and it was 1 of Joe's lesser showings.

someone said the brit fans are too much into naval gazing. on the contrary i think many of us are way too harsh.

bernard hopkins was a fight for 5 years ago when the guy could throw more than 8 punches a round. Calzaghe-Hopkins-Jones-Trinidad-Tarver is the ultimate joke, unless they revert back to fighting guys like Ashira and Salem.
