question about the 2008 U.S. Championships
question about the 2008 U.S. Championships
Or the 2008 future star nationals, are they still going to pay the top 4 guys in each weight class every month?? if so would anybody know how much it would be?? thanks
They do pay a monthly training stipend to the top 4 finishers in the US Championships. The amounts have varied throughout the years. Last year the guys got extra money for about 9 months as A2P was matching the money USA Boxing/USOC provided. My guess is the 2008 semi-finalists will get 300-500 per month, the runner-up about 700/month and the champ will get 1,000 per month. Good luck.
your son and joey dawejko, are two of my favorite fighters in the heavyweight division, it is hard for me because i kno both of them will eventually have to fight and i bet they will be batteling it out for the number one spot for the next few years!! GOOD LUCK TO BOTH OF THEM!!
do you agree with me on that dennis??

I would like to see it. They did box when both were in the JO's. Jordan lost a 7-5 decision. However, it was during football season and Jordan was not training for boxing, but just boxed in the PAL for the fun of it. I wasn't at the tourney, but I was told that Jordan knocked him down in the first round and Joey was hurt and got an 8-count. Jordan's lack of boxing conditioning then showed and he then didn't do much the rest of the bout. I'm looking forward to a rematch. I am also looking forward to the state open tourney next weekend. Jordan is in very good shape right now and ready to box.

Dennis, i am not questioning a knock down, but i highly doubt that he was hurt. i have seen almost every bout of Joey's , and i have not seen him "hurt" in any one of them, including the one with Jordan, because i was at the pal in 2005, he was also going back and to me it looked like a push, but i am not taking anything away from jordan! i am looking forward to a rematch, because i have seen both of them progress so much from JO's to the Open class. But like i said Joey and Jordan are my most favorite fighters in the heavyweight division, and im pretty sure that they will be batteling for the #1 spot!!

Last I knew (about a week ago), they hadn't made the decision on the dates for it. I didn't ask about which LBC was having it. They were trying to decide between the last 2 weekends in January and the 2nd weekend in February if I remember correctly.usanumberone wrote:Dennis, do you know where and when the Great Lakes Regional will be?
the-one,
I can't really comment because I wasn't there and was never able to get a tape of the bout. That was very frustrating to not be able to see it.
Jordan is getting stronger and hitting harder. Joey is good too. I hope you're correct and they battle repeatedly for the top spot.
Are you going to the state open tourney next week?
