Hey i'am 15 yrs old and i do amature boxing not fought yet and hopefully want to turn pro 1 day.
But i have a lazy eye which is basically blurred vision and i can see some things from a bit of a far distince and some things not so good. Now i ask does the doctor give your a full eye examination or does he give you a eye test or just something simple also i have one perfect eye and the other half decent and say if i see may be 1 or 2 big words but not the small ones will he still past me amature or pro?
Any more info would be great
Thanks.
Need Help! Boxing (Medical)
It sound like you would pass most medical exams for amateur boxing and as far as pro it depends on the state. Many would allow you to box as you would pass their exam.
The main question is this: Does it hinder your ability to box? If it does, you probably won't get past the local club show level anyway.

Mel - You are correct, but at some National tournaments the doctors do very thorough examinations including testing the boxers peripheral vision, checking how the boxers eyes track and so on. The poster might not pass one of these physicals which is why I answered the way I did.boxmel wrote:There is no requirement for amateur boxers to pass an eye exam. And I'm guessing that he will never get to a national tournament with his eye problem.Mel - You are correct, but at some National tournaments the doctors do very thorough examinations including testing the boxers peripheral vision, checking how the boxers eyes track and so on.
