May I be the first to say Ian Napa....

Post by Maelstrom »

... well done again. A proper dappa performance.

Nice guys don't always come first, but he has truly deserved the turn around he has engineered.

Never had any favours and fought well above his natural weight. I remember back in the day when he was with Steve Kipps and was looking for flights at Light Fly!

I expected a Napa win and said so on here but I didnt expect him to look so good and to win by such a wide margin - Superb fight, really enjoyed it - He certainly is hitting harder these days, sooner or later he may just KO somebody - Hes only a pint sized fella but he has a huge heart and a huge cock as well !!! - Did anyone else notice, my wife pointed it out to me and sure enough it was pretty obvious once she had drawn my attention to it - Anyway apart from his impressive dick he has now become an impressive fighter and deserves to win the belt outright and get a shot at Euro - Well done Ian, you are finally going places.

Great performance, Ian seems to be getting better and better, personally if I was guiding him I'd bypass the Euro title if possible and try for one of the lesser world titles so that he could really make some decent money hopefully.... :box: :box: :box:

I think Napa should get 1 more defence of the british bantam title so can have the longsdale belt for keeps then maybe move down to superfly - the vacant british belt is being contested there soon by chris edwards and Mcdonnel. Then maybe a euro shot at superfly - he would be better suited to this weight - he always looks a bit podgy at bantam but I'm sure he has said in the past he cant do flyweight anymore.

i love his style, shame he has limited power, but he is as slippery as a bar of soap.

possibly the most stylish of the british boxers...

There Is no Super Fly In the EBU.

The BBBOFC should of just changed fly weight to 8st 3 Instead, would of been better.

I'll agree with that lot. British title first, then I'd be loolking for International Superflyweigh titles, or Commonwealth/Euro Bantam - whichever can be won. After that I'd be going for the Super-Fly world title, although I think he falls well short of the 4 champs.

glad to see him doing well though.

If Maludrottu has a shot at Hasegawa for the WBC next then maybe Ian will be nominated for a vacant title shot. After all he gave a good account of himself in his solitary shot and has been on a 3 fight British level winning streak since.

You can't have been watching the fight. You must have spent the entire 12 rounds looking at Napa's nether regions along with WildWaylon. You aren't all swingers are you?

Probably was, but the bulge was very obvious and extremely low - Not that I look but I cant say I have noticed anything quite so obvious in the past.

I suppose I invited a bit of legpulling mentioning the bulge but I am surprised nobody else noticed it - Anyway great fight and no problem with the judging as far as I was concerned.

I've heard the expression "Big Man, Big Cock" (e.g. someone like me :TU: ) and I've also heard the expression "Little Man, ALL Cock" :o . Anyway, great post and observation from Waylon. Makes this board all the more entertaining! :TU:

You weren't there booing Napa as he was announced the winner were you?

I thought the judges were spot on, Napa looked excellent, what a year he has had. Would anyone fancy him in a return fight with Maludrottu?

A joy to watch. He stayed "in the pocket", simply moving his upper body, and Power couldn't lay a glove on him through most of the late rounds. Power may have looked more successful from the cheap seats, but on TV it was obvious Napa was dishing out a masterclass is reflexive-defensive boxing.

Excellent performance from Napa. Showed us again his superb defensive skills, whilst punishing Power with some accurate counters. Just goes to show that some boxers get written off far too early.

Good to see all three judges getting the scoring corrrect.

Yeah i was at ringside, no i was'nt there booing, no i'm not a swinger, and the only reason nappa's got the the title is because power gave it up through injury ? ? cant beleive you all think the scores were fair ? i think the judges were looking at nappa's knob for 12 rounds along with all you lot ! watch the fight again turn the sound off so you dont get influenced by the crawly bumlick jim wat, score it on punches landed in target area and you'l all see power wins by 3 rounds......

i'll give that a try......to be fair I watched the recording on Saturday and while I never exactly scrutinized every second of it I wouldn't have disputed the decision.
In all honesty, and I appreciate you're obviously a fan of Martin, when he held his hand aloft, got lifted up etc......i thought it was pure desperation/maybe a little bit of embarrassment (not that I'm suggesting there was anything to be embarrassed about in the performance).....it's just that having ruled the roost for a while I think he found defeat against Napa hard to take. In fact if he had won it it probably wouldn't have been by all that much at all, so to see him jumping around like he'd won a shut-out decision just made it look to me like he was clinging to anything he could.
Look, there's obviously a bit of a jump for Napa to make it to the next stage now (tho' to be fair the Ita' is moving up to World Level they say.....which at that weight I would expect the world champ to come from a country other than Italy.......so there's a good chance Napa could get the European belt) .......but if not, who else is there to challenge on the British scene......noone really. If Power thinks he won the only way to prove it is to get back in the ring for a decider..........cos Lord knows, in boxing, everyone loves a decider ! Then we will see once and for all if you're right.

Could hear booing watching It on Sky.

Power was agressive bery little at times but he never landed. People think that scores sometimes.

Power didn't win more than 2 rounds.
