interesting to say the least
It was not as big as it sounds. During the +91 kg bout with Mike Hunter and Kazakhstan, Hunter came back and won a close bout. Fans from Kazakhstan were sitting above the US team in the stands. The US team was loud cheering for Hunter and the Kazak fans were loud for their guy. After Hunter won a close bout, the Kazaks threw water bottles down on the US team and were also giving the finger and talking trash. I didn't see anything happen in the arena but supposedly when the US team and the Kazak fans came into contact in the hallway some punches might of got thrown. It was broken up quickly and no US boxer got hurt.
No Kazakhstan boxers were involved and the two teams were together in Zunyi for the duals. Everbody was friendly with each other.

The US team had hostile people throwing things at them and they were out numbered so if any punches were thrown, it was probably in self-defense. But what the heck, if they got hit with bottles and were feeling threatened, I could see defending themselves as legit.Dennis wrote:It didn't sound like self-defense. It sounded more like guys got pi**ed off and wanted to get even.
I didn't see any of it. I only heard about it later.

brawl
Was the decision at + 91 fair? It seems many fan brawls start from fouls or bad decisionsJMac wrote:It was not as big as it sounds. I tried asking two Kazaks if they knew of the movie. Their English was not that good and they acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. I decided not to ask any others.Dennis wrote:Why would they be mad? Before Borat most Americans didn't even know that Khazakhstan was a country. Now they at least know it exists!
It was a funny movie. It was filmed in Romania and I thought it made Americans look pretty stupid, more than Kazaks.
