Yeh R-jay should have a bit more respect..
Before you get onto a boxing forum filled at least 50% with fighters or ex fighters and start comparing us to dancing bears, you should go down to your nearest police boys club and start telling the trainer everything you know about the fight game..
after you do 3 rounds with his prized light heavyweight you'l have a new outlook mate i assure you..

^^^ Been there done that, off and on for 4 years. I used to train out of a PCYC oddly enough as well. I love how you assume because I don't tow the Aussie line I don't know what it feels like to be punched in the face.

It doesn't change the fact that its entertainment. I appreciate what happens in the ring as much as anyone else because I know firsthand how hard it is. But it doesn't change the fact I like to watch exciting fighters in exciting fights, just like anyone else. Fight boring fights, see how much you get paid. Fight exciting fights with big KO's, see how much you get paid. Says it all, doesn't it?

I guess it comes down to what you consider exciting. I think the idea of boxing is to hit and not get hit and I really enjoy watching Roy Jones Jr, Winky Wright, Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather, etc...

In the end if you win fights you get paid. Look at Wright, he went all over the globe notching up good wins with little notice and then after building his resume he could not be denied and he landed the big money fights...

How am I wrong? You have no idea on boxing. You have criticized a man who has held his own against world champions in spite of the fact that he taught himself to box and had about a dozen pro fights before he had a trainer. In spite of this in his first ten fights he won the Australian Cruiserweight Title and the Commonwealth Middleweight title.

So you don't like his style? Whacko. You say people don't like to watch him? Tell that to Sylvester Stallone and Sugar Ray Leonard.

You know nothing.

Apparently I know more than you.

People like to watch Soliman? Lets look at the contender finale thread on his last fight and see the replies.....
Somebody eject Soliman from my TV please. That dude fornicating sucks.
Soliman is almost as ugly to watch as Bika's wife.
Soliman fights like a retard. God he is unbearable to watch.
Soliman reminds me a little of Vitaly with that epileptic seisure offense.
As you can, see, you're dead right, his style is VERY popular with the fans.

Would you care to tell me exactly what does this have to do with how entertaining his fights are?

Soliman is a great guy and a good fighter and has evolved a style very effective for him. That doesn't mean its good to watch....... at all.

Btw.... what does Sly Stallone have to do with anything?

Sly said Soliman is his favourite fight to watch in the world...

You quoted four people... I'm sure I could find four quotes that say they enjoy watching him fight. I know I do. Its's not like he is the most hated fighter ever to have lived, some people like watching him fight and some people don't, you could say that about every fighter.

I only posted 4 because I didn't want to fill up the thread. I just look at the contender finale thread and posted the 1st 4 responses..... which were all negative. Seriously, if you can find anything to the contrary, I'd like to read it.

Once again, Sam has had a good career, but when I say he's not good to watch its not like thats a comment which states anything other than the bleeding obvious.

Surely you're not as actually obtuse as you appear.

You think I had to search hard for that? I just went straight to the thread of Sam's last fight and posted the 1st 4 relevant replies. You want more? Lets include the Bika fight as well.
Sam looked dreadfull.
Juiced Octopus sucks and so does Pudgy McGirt
That was a horrible fight. Did either land more than 3 clean punches?
The only thing uglier than that fight was Bika's bitch... DAYUMMMM ..
Who won the fight?

Neither, the fans lost.
lso just imagine, we saw the "HIGHLIGHTS" of the fight...can you imagine the whole damn thing?
You want more?

Just be a man admit you're wrong.

Not to get in the middle of your debate, but as you had to go to Saddos to get your quotes, I think you will find if you visited a few Aussie web sites, you would fine more post from people who do like and enjoy Sam's style of fighting.

If Sam had more knock out power, I'm sure even you might see his style in a different light.

What is Saddos?

Australians are going to be biased. If Mundine was American I'd think he was a wanker...... though because he's an Aussie I still think he's a wanker but at least I support the guy and want him to win. Anyway, such a small point..... Sam's a good fighter but he ain't that fun to watch.

So you think that the clowns that had a shot at Belinda Bika's appearance were worth quoting too? Like you, their greatest romance is probably with their strong hand.

LOL

I remember Sam at the Fitzroy All stars gym and danna was working with him, Sam didnt teach himself to box, He simply used a style of boxing that suited him. Brute havent u ever seen Solimans older fights, He would only use 1-2 combos, then he changed (After the joval fight i think) and used the Ape/Drunken Master technic.

His fight with Winky was kickass and i felt he won, It was good on the eyes - i think the point is Sam doesnt come forward anymore and it makes his style look more Jungleboy then PressorFighter.

He has said that he watched a lot of videos of Hamed fights and adapted his style to Hamed's style. I think his Martial Arts background has a lot to do with his unorthodox style. Unfortunately, I did not see his early fights.

Whatever works for you...
