KHAN VS DRILZANI

So I'm breezing through Khan's record and it seems that he went 12, unbeknown to me (I was in France for the summer).

Can anyone tell me about this fight? Did Khan drill this drilzani with some good ones and he stayed up, was he hurt at any point, was he clearly a big toughnut or was he elusive/negative? Were they talking about him having been hurt/dropped before?

Anyone remember anything? Also, did Khan sit down on his shots or ease up when he knew he couldn't KO him?

Khan't remember that much about it tbh. I don't think Khan dropped him, and I think he was down momenterily himself later on, but it was ruled a slip. I think the guy sticking around for 10 was a surprise, but he wasn't exactly competative. Think the score was a shut-out or near enough.

I remember Drilzane being noticably stronger and bigger, wasn't hurt by Khan's punches but not active enough to win it. Khan did get a standing count, was a slip I think but he was feeling Drilzane's power at that point.

More the other way round. Khan slipped, but it was ruled a knockdown, as he was "helped" over by a punch. He won every other round.

Khan went the 10 rounds with no problem and finished strong. Drilzane was a very good test; fit and ambitious.

The slip was ruled a knockdown - it was very borderline either way in my opinion. The fight itself was pretty forgettable - Khan was clearly the quality in the ring, Drilzane was equally obviously not going to be knocked out - he was never really in trouble but took some decent shots, especially in the early rounds.

Okay so Drizlane came in wearing ridiculous Pele Reid styled skirt and brought ZERO knockouts to the table. Yes, you heard me, ZERO knockouts.

He had no power & made little agressive moves, Khan boxed the exact same way every rd, big slappy amateur flurries. Every rd seemed exactly the same, slow & dull, until Drizlane, who did i mention had zero knockouts, put Khan briefly on the floor with one of his pushing punches.

Khan won the decision and everybody talked about how great he looked, even though the french guy made no effort to win and couldn't punch.

He certainly did make an effort. Just because he was outclassed doesn't change the fact.

Barely made any effort. The guy never forced anything. He was a punching bag, although you can get bumped back harder by the heavy bag than by Drizlane.

Khan got knocked down by Drizlane.

Drizlane was standing not sitting in his corner after each round. He didn't drink or take any advice from his corner. He just stood there. Waited for the bell and then came out to fight lol.

some nonsense doing the rounds on this one.
he was the best Khan had fought up to that point and was looking comfortable for about 6 rounds if I remember right, maybe more, Khan started to take over but was never troubling the French fella who seemed pretty tough to me, quick decent jab and didn't seem one bit fazed by any of it.
He boxed like he never even heard of Amir Khan. I enjoyed that one.....all this stuff about doing nothing's just crap take no notice.

i did rewatch this fight a few months back.

khan did pretty good for 6 rds.

but he was less effective down the stretch and his punches lacked the same snap they had early on. he was open to rights over the top as well.

the knockdown was a tangled up with the ropes job.
