Post by steve689 »

Friday afternoon at 2pm apparently in the King's Hall. Anyone planning on going? Let's hope they both make the limit after last weekend!!

Has Eastman ever not made the limit? Only one time to my recollection, against Robert McCracken. And that sure made him mad & took it out on Robbie!!

It a a feat in itself that Howard stil makes 160lbs at his age. Has Eastman done the majority of his training abroad as usual or has it been different for this fight?

If he loses, I'm thinking retirement is most likely for Howard.

I reckon it'll be a crakcer of a bout, a close encounter. Good fights in December to round a solid year off for boxing in general!

Funny you should say that, he always looks too lean and would have benefitted in going up to SM or even LH especially with his height, a long time ago.

The guy is a freak of nature! It's not like he looks skinny either at the weight.

He could have achieved so much more with a bit more focus and the willingness/ability to put his foot on the gas at the right time.

Very frustrating, but he is still far too good for Duddy.... I think he will be the one retiring after this fight!

Remember when Eastman was rumoured to be set to b installed as WBO #1 at 154 pounds so he coul challenge for the title. I think that was the story, Eastman denied it but Eastman at 154...jeez he'd have been a fkking angry man then.

Didn't he actually appear in the rankings at number one for a month, then dropped out again? I'm guessing he was talking to somebody we all know and love at the time...

You tune it in on the other channels bit on Sky . No idea how virgin(or any other systems yee have in the UK other than Sky) works but BBC NI is Free to Air so if you can tune anything in you can get it .

Alternatively you will be able to view the fight on RTE.ie(whos coverage starts 40 minutes earlier aswell) .

Just had a nice bet on Howard - he better not be in one of his fekking "relaxed" moods come fight night, fighting like he's just smoked a very large bong.

That's three fights on same time around 10pm Sat night, Elcock, this and Khan.

I'm going to be busier than a one legged man at an arse kicking comp.

I am not sure why this fight has been sceduled for 10 rounds, who not a 12 round International contest? There are two 12 round IBF bauble belt fights and two decent Irish title matches but the big draw is a 10 rounder? Who does this favour, Duddy or Eastman?

I'll be watchin the first 40 minutes on the net at rte.ie and then switch over to BBC2 NI on SKY channel 992.

Anyone see the Eastman turned up to the press conference with a Celtic hat on!! had to laugh - and him a former British solider - fair play to him.
