What fighters do you think have had the biggest falls from grace but still fought on when they were barely a shadow of their former selves?

Those that come to my mind are Gatti (v Baldomir & Gomez), Vargas ( v Mayorga), Jones Jr (v Johnson) and Tyson (v McBride).

Any more recently that have gone from world class to looking like somebody a club fighter would beat? I think out of this lot Jones Jr is the only one who can be excused as he went on to have another couple of wins.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the thread title. He has resumed his career in Uganda, too.

And Tyson against McBride. Even in defeat, he still looked dangerous against Williams, but against McBride he was a shadow of even the fringe contender he was a year earlier.

1994, Spinks collapses under a barrage of crude cuffing shots from John Carlo, who had no amateur fights and was making his debut. Carlo iced Leon in 1.

1995, Spinks handlers try bring him back by digging up light-heavy journeyman Fred (Young Sanford) Houpe, who hadn't even boxed for 17 years. He outpointed Spinks.

Beggars belief...

That just reminded me of something. Who was it who fought for a world title on their pro debut? Maybe I am dreaming it but was sure I read about it somewhere. I remember it was an olympic medallist?

Pete Rademacher, who decked Floyd Patterson in a world heavyweight title crack on his paid debut. He won gold at the the 1956 Olympics.

The Carlo fight was filmed from ringside. The tape makes for more disturbing viewing than The Exorcist.
