hatton cliches

Post by rooney »

Ricky seeems to inundate us with cliches. Anybody agree, I can think of loads. Can you?

I'll start with

'it's not a tickling contest, is it?'

Any more anybody?

This is the best (and worst) quote I've seen in ages and one which should be used in English lessons up and down the country:

"I've never seen Floyd dig deep, grab the bull by the horns and pull a fight out of the bag," Hatton told BBC Sport.

That was the first one I thought of when I read the heading. It's written multiple times in his book too.

I think that was in reference to the Kostya Tszyu fight when he said he almost blew his load when he realised he had retired in his corner.

The prospect of a war with Castillo gave him an erection, too, as did the chance to fight the p4p best.

I'd pay Children In Need to here Jonathan Ross ask him:

"So Wicky, weally, what do you think wepresents the best way to wemove smoke from a little tewwace house?

"I'd have to say a ickle chimlee Jonathan, by the way did you know my mum is well, how can I say, a monster/animal?"

"Weally? You've only told me wound about 27 times since Fwiday."

Talking of public displays Ricky has had an awful spot erupt at the wrong time.

I know Ricky's complexion isn't what he is known for but he is very unlucky for that mother to crop up at a time when he is on tv every hour across the globe.

Potentially a bit more serious if it's a cold sore, which it looked like to me...

You reckon? I thought sores tended to be more on the lip, this looks a little higher?

Maybe it is a sore and if it is going wrong on Saturday night Ricky will bite Mayweather and give him herpes/the clap?

To quote CJ from the classic sitcom 'Reggie Perrin': "I didn't get where I am today by using clichés. A cliché to me is like a red rag to a bull."
