Is Frank grumpy for a reason?

allegedly, even by his standards, seems to have been excessively grumpy in recent weeks. I wonder if all is not well between him and his star fighter, Ricky Hatton. After insisting Hatton will not be fighting in the States in the near future due to Ricky's selling power in Manchester, it was surprising to read in several newspapers today how Hatton wants to fight in Las Vegas this year.
Bob Arum is known to be keen on matching Hatton with Floyd Mayweather Junior as a taster to Mayweather's mooted pay-per-view showdown with Arturo Gatti later this year, and Sharmba Mitchell's promoter Gary Shaw has also made noises about Hatton needing to fight Stateside from now on.
Mmmmm.

I heard Arum offered Warren a mayweather - hatton fight this year in vegas and also Jubah said he would come to manchester and fight hatton.

I hope Hatton gets these fights

as if Alex Ferguson would write into a paper thats as long as war and peace........

why should BN talk things over every time they do an article? So he can water it down?

allegedly and Boxing News writer Gavin Evans have 'history'. Evans wrote a biography on Naseem Hamed a few years ago - when Naz was with Warren - and the promoter took offence to some of the content and threatened to sue. Frank didn't follow through with his threat, but is clearly a man with a long memory.

I read that book a month or so ago, couldn't believe my local library had it!

The book didn't seem that bad for him to take that much of a grudge on board.

Did Claude come back with a reply in the SO column? Look forward to seeing next weeks issue!

Cheers Shakermaker. I know staffers Claude, Tony, Danny and Nick will appreciate your comments. They kill themselves to get the mag out every week, and then for the printers to mess up like they did! Well, it must be a sickener.
And anyone who's read Gavin Evans' boxing book "Dancing Shoes is Dead", will know he's a great writer.

My new years resolution is to lay off Frank! I was thinking the other day, as much as i barate his match making and "World" title matchups i suppose if he stopped matchmaking on SKY then the world would become a duller place with less live Boxing and more John Inverdale

yeah its a shame we have this petty feud going on between SN and BN

fact is we need both to thrive

SN r the top promoters in this country and the BN r a very important trade paper admittedly less important what with the internets emergence in recent years but we still need both

I have to say, that Warren makes a number of fair points regarding the difference between the business side of boxing, and the percieved

Certainly, I know fornicate all about the business end of boxing, as in, ticket sales, fighter purses, TV money. The main reason is that most of these figures are rarely seen in public domain.
