where are amateur stats?
Is there somewhere that is similar to the boxrec stats that has amateur stats that can be searched by boxer?

The only thing that I could think of is the USA boxing website. But that only lists the ranking of top amateurs and not even their records. I think that Colorado Springs has a database there in which all am. boxers old and new are listed but it's not accessible by the public. I wish it was though because in my area there's alot of sandbagging going on where a coach tells another coach that his fighter has only 10 fights but his book says 55 compared to a fighter with 2 fights.

Pat Pennela ,the director of the Maryland Athletic commission, spoke at the annual meeting in TX. One thing he was hoping to get started was a data base for the Amateurs. I don't know how much work it would be to start but I would think that once it was up and running it would be to difficult to keep up. Someone from each LBC would have to send in the data after each show. approx 22 names and the results.

He did? Must have been on Saturday after I left. I don't even remember him being there......

All they have is a "registration" database for athletes, just like they do for non-athletes. They have no records on athlete's bouts.think that Colorado Springs has a database there in which all am. boxers old and new are listed but it's not accessible by the public.

A tremendous and almost impossible task. Someone would have to look at every boxer's passbook and count up all the scored bouts results. The same for keeping it up to date. Every LBC would have to send in the information, which means someone would have to keep track. I don't think anyone realizes just how much of a hassle this would be. Consider the So. Calif. Assn. - we have at least two shows per week, and sometimes three, with approximately 12 to 20 bouts per show. Nice thought, however. One thing he was hoping to get started was a data base for the Amateurs. I don't know how much work it would be to start
