That was a close fight. It could've gone either way.

In My Opinion Dont Get Too Carried Away. We All Know Earl Is Passed His Best, He's Been In To Many Hard Fights And His Name Looks Good On Kahn's
Record. I Wont Take Anything Away From Kahn,He Looked Good. Came Out Of The Blocks Fast, Great Hand Speed And Power But He Is Still Been Spoon Fed His Opponents. Call fornicate Out Of Me As You Wish After Posting This Thread But I Think Earl Is Washed Up. We All Know Kahn Is The Best Lightweight In BRITAIN And I Fancy Him To Beat Thaxton Aswell But I Think He Has Proved Himself At Domestic Level And Warren Needs To Start Matching Kahn With Opponents Of Equal Abilities. He's Graduated From His Apprenteship And Needs To Realisticaly Step Up. Who Wants To Keep Paying To Watch 90 Second Fights. I Did Think Earl Was Going To Test Kahn Tonight But It Just Went To Show How Damaged Earl Is After His Pat Fights. I Wouldnt Put This Fight Down To Be WOW KAHN REALLY SHOWED HE IS AWESOME more Like OH DEAR ANOTHER OPPONENT WHO MADE KAHN LOOK GOOD AGAIN.

All of a sudden Earl had no punch resistance. No in this fight he didnt... He got starched, no excuses. Like Lennox when he got starched off Rahman, the altitude ect balls. He got hit on the chin and was starched... Khan won by taking it to Earl, Khan looked powerful tonight more than he did in the past, hes growing still with him being a kid still. Very nice preformance.

Don't worry they probably think that was nearer the mark than your 'Audley will be World Champ' prediction :TU:

Seriously we've all made bad calls, I thought Hatton would lose quickly to Tyszu, how wrong did I turn out to be. Thats why Im not betting against him tonight (not betting on him either mind)

Khans a future champ, he'll beat Juan Diaz in 2 years if he can still make 135. Khan is massive lightweight, fast and becoming strong and well schooled.

Khan will have speed, reach, height, strength, power, jab on Juan Diaz in 2 years mark my words. Yep hes got a good style to take chubby boy Diaz who is immensely talented but short, without pop and fleshy.

Similar abilities? Most of the people on here were saying "Wow hes taking on Earl, now we will see if what hes made of" "Earl will be far too much for Khan at this stage of his career, Earl is Euro class" ect ect

Now Khan knocks fukk out of him and people are saying "Im not getting too exited until hes in with a guy who's on the same level as him."

Hilarious

Come on Ricky lad

btw im not even a Khan fan as such, just some people on these forums are offit! :)

Excellent result for Khan. :TU:

Never expected that :o

Am I convinced...no

I will add that a fight with Thaxton will do alot for me...
If he can do that to Thaxton them I`m a believer..

Talk of Juan Diaz is nonsense...by the time he`ll mix with the top guys he`ll be up at lt-welter atleast...if he gets that far ??

Just To Quote You There I Never Said Anything About Earl And Kahn Having Same Abilities I Knew Kahn Would Be Too Much For Earl. But Everyone Is Entitled To Their Own Opinion And Mine Is WE HAV'NT SEEN KAHN IN WITH SOMEONE OF SIMILAR ABILITIES AND AS HE DISPOSED OF EARL WITHIN 90 SECONDS IT JUST SHOWN THE DIFFERENCE IN ABILITIES...

what next for khan?

he won't be a proper world champ by july..warren will probably get him a WBU shot though

assuming khan goes down the european title route won't that give him a automatically high WBC ranking which will put him in the firing line..

so what is warren going to do? pad khan out for years with the WBU or let him have a crack?

Nice one Amir Khan.

I thought first Khan was going to get done over, but he did Well.

After the first Knockout, Earl Look really Stunned and Shocked. Khan did well to Continue the pressure.

Don't think he should rush to win a title Fight so soon, just make his way in his own time

Just a quick question: Why is 'eastmountpicko' Typing Every Other Word In Upper Case?

As for Khan, full credit to him tonight. Plenty of people thought Earl was past it. Plenty of people thought it was still a 50-50 fight. I don't remember too many smart-arses saying it would be over inside 90 seconds. Khan was impressive tonight.

I'm very glad that Earl wasn't subjected to a prolonged beating in there. He is clearly a finished fighter and needs to stop boxing immediately you'd think.

Khan got the job done swiftly and impressively, and I hope the Thaxton fight isn't long coming. That's the real British showdown.

i am not somebody who buys into all the hype surrounding amir k and have always kept my opions to myself but way he has improved over the last couple of years is IMPRESSIVE. Khan will always have people who will slag him off thats just the way high profile people in this country have too put up with not just sport but every famous person. Khan was brilliant tonight but guess what you will get people who will say earl was shot because of the katsidis fight but thats bollocks, no fighter is shot in the first round and blown away like that unless they are old or never trained hard and focused leading up to the fight. with earl he was ready and fully fit so anybody who tries to make excuses and plays down ak victory deep down just not like ak, simple as that. i not his biggest fan (i dont like his fighting style) but i no when i see a good performance and thats exactly what we see tonight.

I don't disslike Amir Khan I think this is a good result I don't think that earl is shot, I think he is a good fighter however he has real problems with his style which he could do with sorting out.

Having watched Murray's opponent tonight I wouldn't mind him taking on a tough mexican or easten european journyman to see how he will react to 12 rounds of pressure.

I don't think Earl was shot prior to this fight, but I believe his confidence will be shot. I don't think he'll want to fight back from this loss.

Fair play to Amir, just plain took Earl out who looked like he didn't know WTF had hit him.

I've only really seen fighters look that blitzed when a world class fighter has done that to them. Earl didn't know what had happened.

Yeah check the look on Earl's face when he hits the deck: absolutely amazed and shocked by the punches that have just crashed off his chin.

No idea why anyone would say that was an early stoppage, his head was being hit full tilt and his body had gone limp. He's a very brave fighter is Earl, and it's a good job the ref was there in time to protect him. That could have turned nasty is Khan was allowed to get anymore of those full blooded swings in.
